Talking Olly's ITK and Transfer Speculation 2010: Discussion Thread!

Thought I would start this thread for the summer - all things gossip and transfer speculation.

Today linked with an 18 million pound move for Luis Fabiona, in the Mail.

The Daily Star (cough) claiming that Chelsea are preparing a 20 million pound bid for Luka Modric!!!

Daily Mirror saying that we will now go for David James. He would do as a number 2

We had better not sell Modric. No flipping way - thank God its only in the Daily Star!!! They could at least make it sound realistic, 20 mil - your having a laugh. Try 30 plus - Its Levy for God sake, and we bought him for 16.5 mil!

Could a mod make this a sticky please?!

Who the feck is Luis Fabiona?!

Tell you what I'll do, I'll pop a sticky thread up for all the actual rumors and ITK gubbins only, as a sort of reference. And then I'll sticky this for the actual discussions.

Sound good?

Right, if Eidur stays down Monte Carlo way and Robbie makes a permanent move away then yes, definately. I imagine we'd have a bit of a fight seeing as he's likely to impress at the WC this summer, but he would be that "next level" of striker that would seriously kick us on to get us through to the CL group stages!

David James? The guy's 40(?) so he's obviously going to be no.2 but also his experience and knowledge would be invaluable to Gomes, and his good working relationship with Harry could possibly lead him to being a coach as well. If James is one thing, he's a thoroughly likeable, intelligent and articulate bloke, and would make a terrific coach. If decidedly iffy when it comes to his barnet...

James will be on big money and would he want to be number 2? Its a big risk that could disrupt Gomes.

Was that an accidental double post or were you just really happy?

I think James at this stage will be looking for some sort of coaching opportunity, earn his badges, and to work with Harry again would be probably be a big draw. I think he'll be happy to take the wage drop too.

Over to you guys.

For real. Gerrard very likely to leave. He is apparently taking a very English attitude towards potentially playing abroad and won't go to Chelski or United. The smart money would be on Man Citeh but we're in play now and I am told have already registered our interest.

Obviously largely the reaction I expected. What I will say, is that to post this knowing I would be ridiculed, should suggest I trust the person who told me.

I have not said we're signing him. But we are going to try. Seriously.
Not what i heard - his house is on the market
