Spurs best 7 current players in my opinion:
King
Woodgate
Palacios
Modric
Bale
Lennon
Defoe

So Defoe is the only one of Harry's i guess. One thing I will say in Harry's favour though is that if he did get Kranjcar for £2.5m then thats a steal & a great signing. Another factor - just because someone is a good player doesnt necessarily make them a good signing for the team. Age, cost, compatibility & timing all come in to it. For example we paid £7m for Keane, he scores over 100 goals for us & then we sell him for £20m. He is not one of the best 7 players we have now but could certainly be considered one of the best 7 signings of our current crop of players. At then end of the day Harry has worked with the players that were there when he arrived & bought in the right players to get us into the top 4. I'm not his biggest fan but cant deny that he deserves credit for that

Er... Palacios...

His resigning of Keane arguably saved our season, along with the outstanding defence admittedly. Krancjar and Bassong were bloody vital as well for last season.

RE: OP

I don't like the DoF system in this league, it caused too many problems with us. And the targets we are reputed to be after are probably the only ones within our means to sign. But then the only player we've publicly tried to sign was Joe Cole, and that's no shoddy, sights too low target to me. Other high profile rumored targets included Fabiano who ruled himself out, and Kjaer who went to Wolfsburg.

I think he's doing what he can with the resources and requirements available. I don't expect much movement at all despite Harry's claim to want "3 big signings"

But to be honest I'm glad we didn't splurge like Liverpool did anyway.

I don't think the DoF system has ever been really set up at Spurs. We tried it but the Santini situation screwed it all up. But I don't see there being anyway that one person can consistently do both jobs exceptionally well. It makes more since to spend the money to build the system at Tottenham, so our success is not tied to the managers, who come and go, but is tied to the Tottenham way. Sure, you may be able to luck into a Ferguson or a Wenger, somebody who can keep a club perenially good, but it's not the most likely of outcomes. Lyon and Barcelona are the two best examples I can think. Lyon shows how you can go from nothing to something pretty quickly and Barcelona shows how to maintain it.

Good point i forgot he was one of Harry's. Probably the best of his signings too as it was a position where we were sadly lacking - a midfielder to win the ball. Overall I think Redknapp's signings have been excellent. Whether he can maintain that standard only time will tell
