Default We have had 17......

......different goalscorers this season which is pretty decent.

I reckon both Gudjohnsen and Kaboul will both score before the season is finished too so 19 different goalscorers would been a pretty decent return from the squad.

If only we had a midfielder that could bang in between 10-15 goals a year!

Lennon? He must have been odds to get a decent tally before his injury.

Or do you specifically mean a Lampard style central player? In which case I agree. There were hopes that that was going to be Jenas, but those hopes were dashed a long time ago. It's the only part of Modric's game that I wish he'd improve on. He's proven his goalscoring ability recently, let's hope he keeps it up!

I also think Hudd is on the verge of adding this to his game as well. He's gotten better at making late runs into the box, and he's not afraid to have a pop, but he needs to start making them count.

Kranjcar seems to chip in a fair bit when he get's a run as well.

jj is the person who would most likely to be able to do this. but he is injured and he doesnt have the quality to be that type of player.

i would like to see hudd mould into a lampard type player. he has the shooting and is better at passing than him.
but does he have the running power to break in on a consistent basis?

Yeah I am looking for a Lampard/Scholes type player to come in and win us a game 1-0 when our strikers are having an off day. I suppose every team is looking to unearth gems like these.

From what I have been told about Sandro (who looks like he is signing this summer) he is more of a defensive MF player and is unlikely to be a goalscorer.

Still if the likes of Modric, Niko, Hudd, Lennon etc can add more goals from MF next season in cruicial games I will be happy.

If Hudd could just start getting those exocets of his on target it'd be a big help!

A Lampard/Gerrard style player would be such a bonus to the squad, to play beside Wilson next season.

How about Gerrard? He looks like he could do with a fresh start.

I'm kidding.

Now up to 20 different scorers with Bale, Gudjohnsen and Rose now scoring. Still think Kaboul will score before the end of the season so that is a pretty good return and use of the squad this season.

I wouldn't want a gerrard or a lampard unless you play them up front or the head of a three. I would want them of course, just not in a midfield two. They aren't great in the build up. I much prefer what we have with Hudd or Modders for that in the middle because Wilson is mainly a digger (and a very good and necessary one).

But yes, those two players can develop their goalscoring and it would be a bonus. But it is a bonus for central mids not the main job of taking the ball well and dictating the passing and getting good ball to the strikers and flankers.

The team is shaping up excellently when we pick the right strikers, then all the ingredients of a proper side are there. It's all there for us to build on next year. In fact, we could have done much better this year but for some bad periods due to some weird decisions.

Right major decisions throughout next year and improvements here and there, younger players stepping up another gear and this team should really be pushing the big teams all the way to the end.
