It's a barely tangible presence admittedly, but it's definately lingered...
Anyway, I read that Paul Robinson may struggle to be fit for the rest of the season after Saturday. I have to say how pleased I was to see the ovation he got from the Spurs faithful when he went off. It shows how much he was liked while he was here. I smiled when he gave the crowd the thumbs up as well. Nice one Robbo!
Personally, I was baffled. He was a terrible goalkeeper for the majority of his time at Spurs - I'd sooner give Mido that reception than Robinson. And I'm not sure, but I think the thumbs up was for the Blackburn fans? It was certainly in their direction - up in that corner where he was limping off.

He deservedly became England's number one during his time at Spurs. He wasn't terrible for the majority of that, he slumped from the 2006/07 season onwards.
If you think the thumbs up was for the Blackburn fans, with the cries of "England's number one" ringing in his ears from the Spurs fans, nothing more can be said to you. You are clearly impervious to reason.

Agree, Robbo was brilliant for a around a year and a half. Was linked with Barca/United and claimed the England jersey, which he nearly kept 10 clean sheets in a row.

Right, we'll all just ignore that of all the places in the ground where Spurs fans were sitting, he chose to gesture towards the one corner where they weren't - in the top corner where the fans of Blackburn (the club he currently plays for) were sitting.

Right, we'll just all ignore that of all the millions of people that saw and attended the game, you seem to be the only one drawing that conclusion.
Exactly why do you think that Robbo was responding to the Blackburn fans, when the cries of the whole ground were pounding out "England's Number One", leaving a ringing in his ears, and not from the Blackburn corner?
I can tell you why. You're full of shit. You think he gave a thumbs up to fans that he couldn't even hear chanting. I'd say it's a basic schoolboy error, but I don't think you even deserve that.

Because I seem to be the only one who is not blinded by irrational love for this Hossam Ghaly of goalkeepers. Thank you for pointing out once more that we were chanting for him, I had noticed that - I was there. Now could you point out why he would gesture only to our fans and choose to ignore those of the team he plays for now?

Mutual respect from both player and fans perhaps? Robbo was class for us. His drop in form was far less cataclysmic than Gomes' first season with us.

I'm sure that Robinson was grateful to our fans and for whatever reason most of our fans seem to love him, but don't you think you'd be a bit p*ssed if you were a Blackburn fan who had travelled hundreds of miles to support this guy and then he gestures to his old fans and not you? I'm sure Robinson would have realised this when he made the gesture - though I'm not denying that he surely has some feeling for our fans.
