Christ, I knew I knew who that was. Just looked him up, that's the centre half we were heavily linked with for months under Ramos!

God that's shocking. Another sudden death of a young footballer. Terrible. Very good player by all accounts as well.

terribly sad news..
the lad had been at espanyol since the age of 12 & had just been made club captain.
i think we we're on the verge of signing the lad under bmj/juande .

this seems to be becoming increasing common for some unknown reason. it was only last year that antonio puerta of sevilla died aged 22 of heart failure on the pitch & recently rueben de la red collapsed all of a sudden.

my heartfelt & deepest sympathies go to all his loved ones.

RIP DANNY JARQUE.

Felt very sad hearing the news, cause it could be any of us!
ITs strange that someone my age has a heart attack and sad that he could have been at spurs and now the dreams ruined.
RIP Daniel!

Genuinely tragic RIP Senor Jarque.

Not only was his girlfirend on the phone to him when he checked out but also expecting his child in September.

Jarque was a top clas centre half, on the verge of a regular place in the Spanish national side, homegrown by Espanyol and just been made club captain.

I have heard a very dark rumour that there are more than a few players on performance enhancing drugs for which there is a 24 hour masking agent. The downside is that this drug affects your heart rate and can cause pulminary and renal failure without warning. I do hope it's just a rumour.

there has to be something because the ammount of players this is happening to is to high for it to just be natural

wasn't there a guy in Scotaland last year too Motherwell captain or something iirc

edit: just checked Phil O'Donnell died in the middle of a match just collapsed in 2007

Aged 37. If there is something in it, he wasn't part of it, if you get what I mean.

why do ya figure?

37 is still very young for a human in tip top shape to just collapse and die
