My views on this post will not be the same as you other fellow loyal fans, my first point is that carrick left with good words to say about the club and how mj has devoloped him, which makes me wonder what zokora and huddlestone could turn into under mj.

Carrick gave his best for spurs and i actually wanted him on my shirt this season, i was gutted he went but respected his honesty, sometimes players just cant turn down certain clubs. At least we got 18million for him and a 16million profit! (unlike one judas ****!) And funny enough i dont think we could of got any better replacements in zokora and huddlestone.

But what i still dont get is we are not far off compeating with the manutd and scum of this world, all we needed was a two good full backs and a top class left winger and we would of been there........ but now this will give other players to prove there worth maybe a blessing in disguise?

I wish carrick all the best he was a pleasue to watch and i feel utd have got a true great under the grasp. Most of you spurs fans will question carrick loyalty and i dont blame you if he wanted to go then he couldnt be commited, so carrick going could only be a good thing and now with zokora i feel we have just purchased the new keane.

I just hope now we at least buy a left winger if we cant get downing then please look at srp, him and lennon will be giving nightmares to the full backs next season COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He has actually handled it very well from the comments i've read by him. He should really have said something a little bit earlier, but he does seem to have parted on much better terms than first thought.

I wish him all the best as he really is a talent and doesn't seem like such a prick after all, but i wish us better. :D

He has been completely professional about it.

But it still stinks of so much disrespect toward MJ more than anything.

How is it a footballing decision? I don't believe this....ManUre only have a realistic chance to win the domestic cups (as do we)....Chelski will win the league, and there's no way in hell ManUre will win CL, they might have a chance if they get eliminated and then go into the UEFA Cup, then hopefully we'll draw them and give them a right royal going over!

I have no particular reason to like or dislike him as he did us no harm, indeed he did us a world of good both financially and football wise by leaving. As soon as play starts in earnest, I think everybody will forget about him as I cannot think of any one play he made while with us that will stand out in memory.

They're competing for the league (supposedly) and they are in the CL, so immediately they're a more attractive prospect. If you look at it from that point of view of course.

If you look at future prospect though, you'd have to say we have a much more promising squad of players than Utd. But, sadly, most players won't look at it that way, and to be fair there's no guarantees that we'll fulfill our potential.

Yeah but what I mean is look at his prospects next season compared to ours:

Man Utd won't win the premiership. If they don't this is (for them) considered an underachievement. They will not win the Champions League. They would have a good chance at the UEFA should they 'drop' into it.

We have a very realistic chance of Champions League qualification (a progression). It would not be considered a surprise if we won the UEFA Cup.

Both teams have equal chances of winning the domestic cups. And to summarise, we are becoming a force, Man Utd are a spent force, with a past it manager. Ours, on the other hand, is on the rise to the top.

Now does it seem like a "footballing" decision?
