Should nick a win wont be easy they are the best team in greek football. I hope we line up like this...
------------Gomes
-Hutton charlie bassong naughton
Bentley? Jenas O'hara Rose
-----Crouch Keane
Bassong should make his debut seeing he wont be involved against pool, naughton has to be tried at left back as he played there for long periods last season and Bae and bassong will both be gone for a month in january. Hopefully crouch and keano get a chance to show what they are like together as we already know what crouchys like with defoe:drool::drool:

Interesting team selection
Gomes; Naughton, Bassong, King, Assou-Ekotto; Bentley, Huddlestone, O'Hara, Rose; Crouch, Keane. SUBS - Cudicini, Chimbonda, Corluka, Lennon, Modric, Boateng, Livermore, Bostock, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe, Obika.
King back - thank God just hope he does not got injured.
Crouch and Keane paired up front - indication these two will start on Sunday?
Also where the hell is Wilson????

More an indication that Defoe may have to play for England mid-week. I'd expect Corluka to replace King at HT.

Is anyone interested in doing a Player Ratings piece for www.spurs-web.com (http://www.spurs-web.com)?
i.e.
Sebastien Bassong (8) - Looked assured at the heart of the Spurs defence alongside Ledley King, a solid debut despite it being just a pre-season friendly.

I think Bentley's days are over at White Hart Lane. Apart from being garbage again, the way that he stormed off down the tunnel when he was subbed, blanking Harry who was applauding him off, and then taking his shirt off like he had the hump, means he thinks he is finished here.
I had high hopes for him, but I have not seen anything from him to suggest that he is really any good. The goal that he scored against the arse is stuff of legends but, thats about it. Shame, but if we can get a few million or a swap for him, I would snap their hands off.

Just like last season, you'd get more of a test playing against 11 Arse fans. Barca at Wembley was equally a false conceit, having only heard of 4 of their players. In previous seasons, I thought at least Torino, Inter and Sociedad wanted more than just a walk in the park.

He doesn't. His mates are(his best mate posts on GG as mams) and apparently so are his family. Something of another Rebrov seems to have developed, although Rebrov was messed about a lot, and often showed a lot of quality.

All this talk of who will start - Defoe and Keane, Crouch and Keane, Crouch and Defoe... someone threw a spanner in the works today, cos Pav was outstanding. Immaculate control and first touch, cracking finish for his goal, drooping deep to collect the ball, and linking up well with Lennon, Modric and Defoe.
Good to see Mr Prince Boateng put in a solid shift!!!

I was impressed with Pavs control, possession and assists today, Modric was fantastic. Second half seemed to be more productive and we seemed to play at a faster pace.

Modric, Lennon and Defoe made the difference for me. Not difficult since Olympiakos just came for a quick run-around. Without Modric Spurs have few ideas. Lennon always threatens with his runs, and seems to have more ideas on where to run with the ball, and look for passes, whilst Defoe is pure goal threat, never mind lacking a football brain.
Modric increasingly impinges into the realm of "world-class". Awareness, touch, control, movement, placement, just lacking a little in the area of goal threat that would seal it. I'm on the verge of enjoying him more than Berba and I bet he will be the subject of 30m+ offers next summer, and will leave.:dong:

Agree with your last paragragh and hope your last sentence doesn't materialise. If we do well this season we may be able to keep him, infact I think we will do well and will keep him. City have all the pressure on their shoulders now, we have no Europe and I think we are slowly emerging as dark horses for this season.
Now all we need to do is get Young and Cattermole in for Jenas and Bentley - thats our squad balanced lovely...bye bye :ciao: City!

That would be coolio indeed!
Although the Petrov rumours intrigue me if Young proves too expensive. But if O'Neill is happy with £5m plus JJ for Young then I'd take that!

Saw the goals last night. I have to say I was well impressed with Pav and Defoe. Great goals from them, and a nice assist from Pav for Charlie as well.
I know it's just a friendly, but I reiterate my belief that Pav is going to be the man for us up front this season! Pav, Palacios and the MLK reforged (Modric, Lennon, Keane) are going to be formidable!

I agree with you Gino, I could see Pav playing a big part this season. He might not always be first choice but could give Harry some real headaches.
Could see him coming off the bench to score against the bin dippers as well.
Infact I think our striking department looks very exciting.
Wouldn't be surprised if we are all dying to hold on to Pav next summer - football is a fickle business!!
