Well he's fully rested for this season , and fully fit ( hopefully), and now he knows what the PL is all about.
It will be interesting to see what he's capable of.

Hope he has a good season, would certainly shut up the pundits and my friends lol.

I'm not his greatest fan by any means. Always comes across well though, just the football let's him down!

Very unorthodox playing style, makes some good runs, doesn't excel in anything in particular, can't speak the lingo, just hasn't cut the mustard for me.

Before Crouch's arrival I would have said he was in for a big season. Now I can't really see him getting much of a run, it's going to be Crouch + Defoe/Keane. Maybe he'll be consigned to scoring lots in the cups again.

I see him coming off the bench a lot, particularly at home if we are struggling to get the break through. I actually think Pav will come up with some important winners....its a pitty he cant find better form when we are playing well. I mean we did well against Man U at Wembley, Pav was terrible. We got beat at Old Trafford and Pav scored a great header in the FA cup. We Played pathetically at Burnley...Pav saves are bacon. Got pasted by Liverpool at home and Pav sneaks the winner totally against the run of play. Dominated City at home for large parts and Pav gets substituted - didn't do well. I mean he does well when we arnt playing well (like against the Pikeys at home with that great winner - another example) and when we are playing well he doesn't!!!

I rate pav as a cool finisher and he seems to have a knack of putting his one chance away, sadly with the arrival of crouch it would seem he will not be first choice so it's just a case of him taking his chance to impress when given a game. No excuses this year.

I have high hopes for pav hope he proves me right.

Like I posted before,Pav was the only bright spot in our game against South China, albeit a meaningless friendly. He picked his angles beautifully, low or high, but he needs to practice more shots with power. Hope Arshavin's performance will give him new incentive to really come good this season. Fingers crossed.

I echo the concerns about Pav since the arrival of Crouch. Before I would have expected that with Bent gone Pav would be the main man partnering Robbie and JD alternatley, and that he would prove to be an excellent target man and striker. He grabbed 14/15(?) goals last season, mostly from the bench, and showed a good range in his finishing. I think he'd be good for 20 goals this season.

But now you just know that Harry will go for his dynamic duo and be playing JD and Crouch up top, with Robbie and Pav being the "impact subs."

I'm willing to bet that, as much as I like JD and his finishing, and don't have anything against Crouchy, Robbie and Pav prove to be the much more effective and better quality partnership, and they have forced their way into being first choice front line by christmas.

we really did settle for second best when we bought Pav

at the Euros he was a very frustrating player often getting the ball and shooting from way out with no hope in hell of scoring when there were far better passing options arround him, he also missed afew sitters. He's almost 28 already too even though he only looks 21.

He's a pretty good quality 4th choice striker though but I reckon he'll be off in January or next summer for sure.

Pav is a way better player than Berbatwa*оv. I expect him to hit 25 golas next season!

I wouldn't rule out a sale this month, and I still probably expect it, if there is any possibility of Huntelaar.

That's a bloody interesting observation Olly. He did lift us at times when we were in big trouble. Burnley is the one that really sticks out in my mind. He was sensational in the last twenty minutes of that game, sensational.

He really stepped up a few gears there and grabbed the game by the neck when it was sorely needed and it was pure class he showed.

He's so frustrating as the talent is in there. But most of the time last year he was shocking. Who knows how he will do this year. If I had to bet I'd say it will be much the same or good impact sub, but I do see the class is there. But f*ck me his general play was AWFUL last year, aside from three or four games.

I wouldn't agree with that now. I think his movement in the box is superb and his finishing is ice cold a lot of the time with either foot or his head. So in the box I like him a lot.

Just his general game was pants last year. He was lazy in using his strength, his hold up play and link up was awful and fair enough he's not quick so I wouldn't expect any great movement in the build up. But yet in three or four games his hold up play was very good???

Overall last year though he brought nothing outside of finishing and the play broke down with him so often and that's just not good enough for spurs. Huge improvement needed or he's finished here.

Totally agree with that. When you say you like him in the box thats the nail on head, he is very good in the box, excellent. His movement is brillant inside the box and thats why he has a habit of being in the right place at the right time. If Harry and his staff could improve his all round game he could turn out to be a very good forward. The talent is definitely there but he needs to adjust, learn the language and develop a real appetite for the English game. If that comes we could have one hell of a striker.

I really think he can do it. The natural strikers ability is there and given a good run with Robbie I think he could become another Sheringham type.

Or... he could be the next Iversen :001_unsure:

id forgive him for last season under the first premiership season rule ,but as said cant see him given a run in the league to build up his confidence ., he will be 4th choice .
iverson was a good comparison though i think he had more of an all round game tbh
