Gareth Bale to break the curse: Of course, and it's only an unfortunate coincidence
Ledley King to play at least 18 league games: Yes, hopefully
Redknapp to be sacked: NO
Levy to sell up: No, too early
Redknapp to mention "2 points from 8 games": Of course. :stickyman:
Spurs to beat Arsenal in the League: Hmm, yes, I think so.
Spurs player of the year, first and second: Modric (first), Keane (second)
Spurs top scorer: Keane
If we do fire ourselves to the cl places in my view King, Modric and Keane will have a hell of a lot to do with it. I'd like to see Hutton at right back as well, but that's not nearly as important imo.
Also Jenas in cm is probably as important as having King and Keane in the prem side as much as possible. That is NOT having Jenas in it. Those are three decisions that I will look upon with huge interest this year because imo they will make or break a serious tilt at the cl clubs or not.
Picture most of the play going through Keane and Modric, King imperious at the back. A central midfield that is actually fully functional, does the right things. Crouch holding the ball up and Keane feeding off him, anticipating quicker with his brain than defenders and bagging lots of goals. Lennon causing consternation with his pace, balance and first touch.
This is the only chance of us breaking up the cl party imo. I just don't see how we can do it with the other players, they haven't got the quality.
That is unless Bassong is a world beater and could play instead of King. However, as you can see I believe this is what Harry will do as well.
He's basically gotten nearly everything spot on so far bar one or two things (JJ and Zok still getting so many games) as far as I'm concerned, but maybe that was also ultra caution over relegation.

He did seem to go from pants to top class in one season. It was really remarkable. And it was all to do with coaching and him responding as it happened gradually over the year and then in January, Febuary or so he was top class!
But they will be sniffing around Modric the most next summer, he's better than top class he's world class. I'd put my house on it. I just hope we do well enough to convince him to stay over the next few years, otherwise he is gone for sure.
This is not to say they won't be sniffing around others players, but I feel Modric is sure to be the jewel in the crown. He already is and he's only going to get better.
I'm also worried about Wilson if we don't match his ambitions too.
I must say as much as Ekotto has impressed me the last number of months I'm far more worried about Modric, Wilson, Lennon, even Hutton, hell even Gomes. I do feel Ekotto is more replaceable and we've a welsh guy in the background called Bale without an inordinate amount of potential.
He just needs to refine his game and become a much more solid and reliable player.

If not stated - Spurs to finish: I think Man City's new acquisitions will prove too strong and that Moyes will continue to consolidate Everton's position, especially if they grab Senderos from...
...Arsenal will struggle in comparison to previous seasons but they still possess quality in Fabregas, Arshavin, Van Persie, Walcott, Clichy and Eduardo (who are all better footballers than Adebayor anyway), despite their defence weakening with the loss of Toure and potentially Senderos.
Therefore I see us bubbling under at 7th. We have a good core squad but with our defenders looking shaky for fitness and the need to bring in (lesser) replacements I think we'll struggle to find enough consistency to finish higher, especially if JJ remains at CM and the new forwards fail to click.

I think if we get that many goals we might just win the league! Remember we are not in europe, it's not like the other years recently when Berba and Keane were over 20. We'll be lucky to get over 20 from anyone for that reason imo.
I'd say Keane 18 (first choice), Crouch 13 (first choice, with about 20 assists between them, not always directly, but very involved), Defoe 12, Pav 9 will be somewhere closer to what it will be to be honest.
And that could be really different if one gets the nod first and then another forces their way in months into the year. But overall I'd expect about 50 goals from our four strikers.

Obviously United will miss Ronaldo's goals and influence but then I'm sure they will still score goals and be able to keep a more balanced attacking shape with discipline. I'm guessing Rooney will be a centre forward and will have the delight to have owen or berba with him all season. Valencia will assist the team once he settles into a rhythm, but my main concern for them is left wing..ok park is a great player but he won't score 10 goals or come up with 10 assists. But then again Nani could step up to the plate..
Chelsea have finally come back to earth and have realised the can't are living way out of there resources. They can't even attract the biggest names anymore and will eventually struggle to pay the huge wage demands that players will want in the coming future. How will the summer effect Terrys performances? Or the players feelings towards him? I expect Lampard to have another cracker of a season but they still lack width and will be exposed if they continue to play one dimensional. But with Ancelotti at the helm I still expect them to really look like title contenders.
Liverpool could well struggle how can you replace Alonso? With Barry gone already it seems they are fvcked and what will happen if Macherano leaves aswell?:ciao: Rafa hasn't treated Alonso well he wanted to sell him last season so he could buy Barry and when that fell through Alonso proved why he is so widely respected. They didn't need Barry at the time and it should a lack of respect on pools part. Looks like they have lost both players and I can't see them getting anyone in who will have the same influence in the way Liverpool play. Glenn Johnson is a wonderful signing but he will need to improve his linkup play down the flanks but liverpools main faults are still no quality wingers, no replacement if torres or gerrard get injured and no replacement for alonso. Looks like Pool have gone backwards sadly, but still time to put things right.
Arsenal are a jammy team ok they won't win the league but they still manage to hold onto fourth place even with an unbalanced side with a poor defence. They get sooooo many injurys to key players but still get results. They will always bring young players through year in year out as long as wenger is in charge but they still lack real quality international class players. Arshavin will only get them so far but it could be a tough season instore for the scum if their young players don't step up to the mark. They could be the surprise package of the season.
My main concern with City is how on earth are they gonna keep everyone happy? Whats their starting eleven? If Robinho plays left wing then they are fvcked, Toure is a good defender but if they don't bring in a ball winning defender then that could be the difference from 4th to 5th. I still maintain Dunne is a great defender and If I was Hughes I would keep him as my captain and starting cb. He was brilliant for ireland against Bulgaria and was mainly a one man team. Speaking of Ireland will he get a game? What about Bellend? I'm not sure but money talks and I expect them to really push on after the january window. I think they could push Liverpool all the way for fourth place.
With Spurs I really do think we can qualify for Europe via the league especially if we bring in Bassong and Sissoko. Crouch will get a good 11 to 15 goals a season if given the minutes and will also assist the team hugely. We will finally have an out ball and a target for our wingers. Defoe and keane score goals nuff said. Naughton looks a player but my main concern is central defence, woody and king are ticking time bombs waiting to go off. But for once no one is hyping us up and I expect that to work in our favour, Harry and the coaching staff have only done wonders since taking over so I expect us to carry on where we left off. Modric, sissoko/jj palacios and lennon is a triffic midfield and I expect us to give this season a right go.
I expecr Villa to struggle because they don't have a 15 goal scorer in their squad, with the lose of barry and the fact they are due an injury hit season I can see them finishing 7th highest. Everton will keep doing what they normally do and good luck to them but I can see them falling below the top 7. Bent will score goals at sunderland and Hull will struggle, not sure on Fulham just yet.

well what u all think???
Depends. If we sort out the central midfield by buying a top class cm or JoH/Livermore getting a good long chance and taking it, getting a fourth centre half for cover and if he plays Keane and Crouch then I'd be very optimistic about going to the wire for fourth place.
I can see us being very solid and functional with squad depth and Modric, Keane, Lennon and Crouch all interchanging brilliantly and destroying defences.
Take away any one of Crouch, Keane or Modric for most of the season and there are missing ingredients for a top side imo. I can see them being one of the most intelligent trios in europe actually and all the football we play going through their link up.
And Lennon will prosper hugely like he always does from Keane seeing his runs and I'm sure Crouch will help him a lot as well.
You could say I believe a lot will hinge on Keane coming back to form (which he appears to be doing) and Harry having the faith I do that it will happen. But still Defoe will be important from the bench and as cover no matter what.
However, with Defoe first choice ahead of Keane I predict 7th place.

I don't have them relegated because I thought this arab was loaded and when he buys them then they are supposed to start buying. But its weird that they apparently have to sell first to stay in business. All sounds weird. As it stands they are certainly in big trouble.
The teams I don't know much about are Birmingham and Wolves. I don't really know what they have, but McCarthy did really badly before. Less money, but still awful. So I don't fancy them, even though by the sounds of it they have a few nice players and Doyle.
I've a feeling Birmingham will have a few quid and McCleish is getting a grip on things there and that they will be just about okay.

I think Pompey will hold out. I see Wolves and Burnley have a torrid time, and Stoke unable to last this season.
Wolves do have a bright front two in Doyle and Keogh (I hope he does well, was a firm favourite at Scunny), but just no where near enough across the squad.

Why would people who like Keane hate Defoe being top scorer? We're not split into people who like Keane and people who like everyone else - we're all SPURS fans! I would hate this season if we finish 12th though, that's for sure. I can't see any reason why we would - we were the 5th best team in the league since Redknapp joined, love him or hate him. We finished 8th last year after our worst start since 1912, so I think we should be safe for top half. Your predictions make it seem as though you would enjoy seeing Keane and Redknapp fail, even if it meant a bad season for Spurs.

Everyone was conditioned by Jolism into believing Defoe and Keane was not feasible. Well, play it to feet and into their movements and by hell does it work, they dovetail brilliantly. I predict they are going to tear apart this league, Defoe is finally looking like what he was going to become as a kid: a top player at least. He's linking up, holding the ball up and his athleticism and sharpness is looking sensational.
Keane, Defoe, Modric, Lennon is a fearsome foursome. This year is going to be VERY exciting.
By the way can I change my prediction to Chelsea for the title spur? One look at Ancelotti's regime and plans for Chelsea and I'm impressed and United's squad doesn't look nearly as impressive as before. The Barca showing up of their central midfield minus an aging Scholes and losing Ronaldo makes me think they won't win the league.
Chelsea have a strong squad and manager that uses a system that will suit them.
