i noticed rafa benitez has made some more comments in a recent interview about robbie fowler's contract chances. I can't find it to quote, but he was saying that he would wait and see about robbie as you don't know who you can buy, but maybe you can buy someone say 23, with pace and great ability.

I don't think it's just coincidence that he should say that after all the aggro about us trying to sell defoe.
And due to Jermain's lack of pitch time i'm starting to worry about keeping him, especially while we chase another striker or two.

Benitez is a hypocrite, he moans about unproffessionalism in the game i.e. diving whenever liverpool lose yet makes comments like these and his previous statements about our desperation to sell JD. unproffessional and a huge display of hypocrasy.

Well DonJol, you seem to be closest to him, so why don't you do your fellow spurs a great service and whack him round the head a couple of times outside their training ground?

I'm sure you can get some evertonians to help you out too...?

I am shocked he can get away with it - to be frank I would have thought the FA should be on the case about this, counts as tapping up in my book.

After Rafa's comments today it is obivous that Liverpool want to sign him. We have to remember that Defoe was quick to jump ship at Chalton and West Ham. As much as I like him as a player, I dont think he is prepared to fight for his position such as Keano did eariler in the season. I will be very suprised if he is still a spurs player at the start of next season. All I hope is spurs get mega money for him and DONT swap him for CISSE who isnt worth 14p let alone the 14 million Liverpool spent.

Please let me know what the rest of you Spurs fans think.

I think he might surprise us all and stay. Im not expecting him to stay but he might stay and prove us all wrong, including myself, because I don't reckon he will.

But he might.

I've said for a while he'll be off to Liverpool, let's hope he makes it to the world cup, has a blinder and then we can hike up the price

Still what him to stay, but everyone has their price, right?

and if it'll help fund Torres or Kuyt then so be it

It would be silly to sell him. I just can't see it happening.

Just because it's silly, doesn't mean it won't happen...

i never in a million years saw Robbie Fowler going back to Liverpool so anythings possible but i can guarentee that Jol will get a great deal for him as he has said many times; we're not a selling club and cant be forced into selling anyone. ball entirely in our court

I agree - he's on a long contract and Jol isn't the type to be held to ransom so we're almost sure to get a good deal out of it. If we sign Mido, I'm almost in favour of letting Defoe go if we can sign (e.g.) Torres, Kuyt <insert world class strikers name here>
