....are really beginning to piss me off. Delete the entire thread and save us the time of actually reading half the garbage that is posted. MON says he has had no offers for Ashley Young, yet these ITK's are adamant that he is signing for us no later than Friday (Tomorrow). How the **** is that going to happen? Now we can take that as bullshit as with everything they have said since the transfer window opened. Ive been reading these ITK's all summer and nothing, NOTHING, they have said has even been remotely true. Any body else getting pissed off aswell? Have they ever got anything right?

If you link every current Spurs player with every other club and do the same with every other player and say they are coming to Spurs, you'll get one right!
There must be some ITKs that actually are in the know but they get lost among the dross. I am sure that there is weight behind some of this - but I like the rumours and discussions, it can be useful to think about who we are being linked with - and therefore sure up what you think we really need (e.g. linked with Young makes it clear that we want a left midfielder but link with Downing says we do not want someone boring!)

Or you could just not read it and not get your hopes up.
Didn't Glenn Hoddle say "Robbie Keane is not on our list. In fact we don't even have a list, and if we did have a list, Robbie Keane would not be on it."
That was two days prior to the unveiling of a certain Robbie Keane. MON wants a bidding war to rage. Why would they buy Downing if they weren't getting rid of Young?

I know but when an ITK posts something as good as 'Young to sign tomorrow' then the entire forum starts to talk about it and I can help but get involved and get my hopes up. Only to read later that nobody has even bid for Young so he wont be signing tomorrow.
Oh and I remember Hoddle saying that....ah brings me back. :glare:

Best to take it all with a pinch of salt mate.
It's fun hearing all the rumours and thinking what if but until the player is pictured in the shirt on the official site I wont believe a thing.

I love reading it all, there are some who do have an idea of whats going on. They may receive some information which is accurate but things can change quickly which is obviously beyond their control...players, agents, clubs..so many dynamics involved can facilitate a lot of chinese whispers.
For instance some ITKs were posting about Robben....he admitted himself on Sky Sports news that Spurs had been in touch with his father.
Of course some of its off the mark, but its all part of the fun trying to decide what info apperars more realistic.

To replace Barry. Downing's played there for Boro.

Don't see it at all.
If Young wants to leave then Young is leaving. It's that simple.

on the bench or getting rotated in
it gives them options, Milner is a young player and not as consistent as the other 2 wingers or as established in the league
also Downing is injured for fecking ages before he can even start trying to work on his match fitness
Villa got all the extra Europa games to this season and needed to add quality to their squad if they want to continue to compete

yeah it is but the time he leaves won't necessarily be only his choice
he's on a long contract and last season Barry threw the toys out trying to leave and MoN set him straight

If he wants to leave, you can bet the first 2 clubs on his list are Utd and Chelsea. It wouldn't make sense to let him go with Downing not able to play until October.

MON actually said he'd let Barry leave for £18m . Lool didnt want to pay the fee and thats the only reason he stayed.
Alonso is better than Barry so it was a strange one really.

chelsea have zhirkov, joe cole, malouda and kalou. Man u have valencia and nani.
He might be tempted by a move abroad.

MoN still set his ass straight after he went public trying to get his move
stripped him of the captaincy, priced him out of a move and set a deadline, I think he even fined him a couple of weeks wages
Young has also been priced out of a move 25-30 mil is a fecking pisstake

Chelsea would switch him to the right. Kalou occasionally features there but not to great effect. Nani may well be surplus to requirements at OT. Young doesn't strike me as a player that would flouris abroad at this stage, particularly as he's only recently made the England squad.

Out of a choice of Milner and Young for RW, Milner would be getting the nod as he's a far better footballer IMO.
In fact if Young was to be moved onto the right then I'd much rather try and sign Milner as he can play in the AM midfield role just as well as RW. A genuinely excellent young player, would love him here.

I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at Milner, always thought he was a very decent player with a great attitude.

Agreed :thumbup1:
As for the ITK subject, just because something doesn't happen as they said it would doesn't mean it's all boll*cks or they don't know anything, it's probably just that things change so quickly that they can't be on the money every time.

There's no way Milner's getting dropped, and if Young can't handle Birmingham how the hell is he going to handle Manchester or Milan?
HE IS NOT THAT GOOD. HE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR TOP FOUR.

Villa will have a shat load of games this season especially being in the new extended europa second rate league. I rate Milner too and think he's got alot of potential and start of the season him and Young will be starting. What Downing does is give them damn good options on the flanks depending on who they're playing and how MoN wants to go about it. I think it's stupid to think just because Villa bought an injured Downing that Young will definately be flogged especially when he's got a jacked up price on him that only 2 teams in this league would be willing to pay and they don't need him. I also can't see Milner going because like Gino said he can play an attacking central role so MoN could have all 3 start behind a targetman if he wanted and they have afew of them at Villa.
