I should have added, though, that I suspect HR doesn't want to let anyone go until he secures a replacement.

I have a bee in my bonnet but I always recall the s**t we got ourselves into when Teddy left and we had to pay over the odds for Ferdinand - we were over a barrel. We virtually repeated it last season with Roboberbil and some might say Pav was the Ferdinand of his day.
