Reports are suggesting that Chimbonda has effectively issued a 'come-and-get-me' plea to Tottenham. To be fair, he's issued a good statement as well, surely any attempt by Wigan to keep him now would be unfair to the player.
Like his agent states....£3.5M is a good price, although I'd be happy to go a Million pounds over if necessary.

Tell them the last price is 4 million and let them sweat over the prospect of a want-away grumbling all the time if they don't accept.

I think £3.5 mil should be the absolute ceiling for any bid for Chimbonda. One season doeth not a great player make.

He and his agent obviously have it well thought out, then.

i like him a lot but dont think we should be held to ransom for him, he's good but not £6million's good

The whole situation should change, he clearly does not want to be at Wigan any longer and I think it's hard to argue with his agent that £3.5M is a good price for a player who cost £400,000 a year ago. And like spurs61 said, he's only had one good season, we could buy him and he flops, rebrov-style.

If we valuate him at 6 million, we'd have signed him already. So no danger of that. Still would stick to a max of 4 million.

I agree, we shouldn't risk too much on a guy who's had one season (though he looks very good). Remember Michael Ricketts?

We should make a cheeky 15 million bid for Gallas as he clearly doesnt want to stay and no clubs are bidding for him. Every defensive position will be covered for then and he can the right back position as his own!

I woul love to have Gallas here. He'll want CL footy and massive wages though.

Thats true...we wont be able to match his wages. Maybe he causes a huge rift in the dressing room and Chelsea need a quick fix so loan him out to us and pay half his wages!
I know its wishful thinking but one can only dream!
