I was told yesterday that keane and Arry have a had a massive fall out! This came from a Sunderland Supporter who I was out with yesterday. he said that they had a massive row and Arry was trying to a deal in selling both Bent and Keane to Sunderland.
I think this could be a pile of poo but it is strange that a player Arry was talking up hugely only 5 months ago is now trying to be pushed out the door.
Can anyone see where we are going to get 3 strikers of the quality of Keane, Bent and Pav. To replace those you are looking at forking out close to £40m
I don't see the point in spending that on 3 strikers who have never played in the premier league before. Or are we going to get Crouch, Jones and an other!

I'd be content with replacing Pav with Crouch and content with replacing Bent with Jones. I'd also be content in not replacing Keane, but rather spending the money on a replacement for Jenas and a partner for Wilson.
I'd be content with that.

To me, that forward looks like we are going to struggle score. If we lost Defoe for a major part of the season are Crouch and Jones going to score 30 goals between them?
I would agree that we need a central playmaker. I would rather we spent something like £25m on the right player. I think selling Bent will be a mistake and I would like to see Pav given a run with Defoe.

I'd struggle to believe that source mate. Prob someone who wants Keano to join them.
I'd gutted if we lost him again.

Pav struggled in the league. Bent had some confidence issues but he still got close to 20 goals and was only behind Stevie G in English Goalscorers.
Strikers only score goals if they have the ball. People saying that Owen did sweet FA in his last games for Newcastle, but how many chances did he have or were created for him.
the rumour is probably rubbish but I was wondering if anybody else had heard of the rumour.

Why do so many Spurs fans have the same problem of not being able to understand the concept of supporting two teams!?! If I was a pro footballer who joined Spurs, I would tell the world it was my dream move to my boyhood club. If, later in my career, I moved to Celtic, I would tell the world it was my dream move to my boyhood club. I support both. It can be done.

Keane is as bad as Judas Teddy Sheringscum.
I absolutely adored the pair of them, they both left for "greener pastures" and both didnt exactly go about it in a nice way.
Then when it all goes tits-up they come crawling back to WHL and have absolute dickhead fans w@nking over them again.
Well bollocks to that. Keane can **** off, he is a dirty little pikey bastard and I wouldnt piss on him if he was on fire the horrible little c-unt that he is.

How exactly did Keano go about it in a not nice way mate? He said he wanted to leave, never led the club on at all? It was hardly like the Berbatov scenario - now that was a horrible c**t who f*cked the club over!
I'm still firmly a Keano fan although he needs to pick his performances up slightly.

Another common misconception among Spurs fans. Keane's Liverpool career did not go as he'd hoped, but you seem to be picturing Spurs as the gracious ones who, solely for the good of Keane's career, took him back and gave him first team football. Don't forget that we NEEDED him in January, we were in a relegation battle ffs!

Keane publicly stated he would stay at Spurs for the rest of his career not 6 months before jumping ship to his "boyhood club" which he had already stated was Celtic.
So whats it to be, Liverpool or Celtic ???
Dont get me wrong he contributed to us staying up, and for that i will be gratefull.......i just dont hold him in the same regard anymore.

Lol, I think I can hear him slamming away on his keyboard as we converse!
I was told months ago that Keane has managed to fall out with pretty much everyone in the squad. Dunno what Harry's relationship is but I am reliably told that Woody would quite happily kick Robbie in the goolies (there's a word I haven't heard for years!), something to do with respecting the other players.

If those reports are accurate he basically has come back and been acting a pr*ck. Obviously we do not know what goes on in the inner sanctum but he never has come across as arrogant or a bit of a tit.
I'd understand if the other players were a bit wary of him returning, getting the captaincy, seen as the savior of relegation and so on. Then again they were the ones that got us into that position and at that point there were times when we really needed a captains performance from Woody, which never materialized.

Not that I wanted to believe this but my cousins husband says that keane is actually a bit of a knob. He has said it for ages but I just went bla bla...my cousin's husband is Nicky in West Life's best mate...also hangs around with Shay Given.....seen all the pics.

As with all the other guff about - take all this with a pinch of salt. I'd be annoyed if the lads hadn't given him some sh1t about doing one for the bindippers and then coming back with his tail between his legs - pretty sure that'd nark him a bit. But 'Arry made him captain and the performances improved.
Problems are:
1) if he stays and is captain then he has to play - bug9ers up Defoe sorting a decent partnership
2) if he goes, we need to replace him - if there had been better around then we wouldn't have bought him back. NOW we are apparently looking for replacements for Bent, Pav, Jenas, GDS etc - can't see us getting top dollar for all of them AND replacing them with equal quality between now and the 24th (if we don't replace before pre-season then the team will have another cack start and we'll be in the sh1t again.
I want to see a team of skilled players playing together and fighting for success together - motivating each other. That's why I'm Spurs.

I don't know why some people hold it against player for leaving. They have their reasons. It's not about loyalty, they have their ambitions and at times due to bad management by managers in recent years and both chairman and managers in previous spurs haven't lived up to the standards of some of their stars, traditions and brilliant fans.
So long as a player gives his all while he's here and will still have all the time in the world for him.
Berbatov is a c*nt, Judas is a c*nt, not Keane, Carrick or Teddy.
One exception is Judas who just made it totally unacceptable with the triple whammy of saying he'd stay so they didn't sell him thus costing us twenty million and just to rub salt in the wound and make it totally unforgivable he went to the pond scum down the road.

I've just one thing to say to the rest of the thread. To those sticking the knife into Keane as a player, think long term and not a year when it couldn't have gone worse for him and he was still suffering from a huge lack of confidence when he came back.
Form is temporary, class is permanent. Defoe won't get you where we want to go, he hasn't got the brain imo. Take a look at the stats and Keane scores as many and links the play creating loads as well. Same international stats as Owen.
15 games in when Keane is back to Keane and is linking the play up and has scored 12 goals by November and Defoe is misfiring most people will have the opposite opinion and that won't be entirely accurate either.
As for rumours on his personality it's curious that these surface at a time when he's the pantomine villion, yes? Sounds like how the papers act to be honest.
Never believe rumours and paper talk until you know it is true.
And interpretation is big too. Keane gives out a lot, especially when he's unhappy, he's a very geniune heart on the sleeve guy. To an onlooker he might look like a prick at times, but he strikes me as the sort that even though he's of a loudmouth it just that he doesnt' hide his feelings, but he is humble, a great laugh and so people love the guy. He's just a kind of a character. I've never heard any different than that.

I think it's one of the best sayings in football and imo a lot more people should take head of it. Some of the things I've heard said about Keane and Owen in the last month or two have been really premature as far as I am concerned, especially in the case of Keane who has not had the injury problems, not lost any pace and is a year younger. I'd expect that he will be back to his best once that confidence shattering year is behind him. At pool he couldn't have been messed about more and not given a proper chance to get the big money tag off his back.
And somebody that has mostly used his brains and technique instead of his legs will probably last til 35 playing well too.

Owen and Keane both have alot to prove next season and I firmly believe Keano will get back to his best and I also think Owen will turnout to be a very good signing for manure.
All I'm saying is that little quote is rubbish aint nothing permanent in football class or form, both change over time players get old or lose their hunger and change shit look at Ronaldinho his fall from grace was spectacular and had nothing to do with age his class certainly wasn't permanent.

Not to mention Robbie Fowler, Ronaldo (the real one), Cassano, Saviola, Kevin Davies, Paul Warhurst, Stan Collymore and yes... Jason Pollock! (he was gonna be better than Barnes apparently!?!?) All were class. All lost it.
Nothing is ever certain, and football is certainly a funny old game, as our greatest striker once said.
I don't think anyone has written Keane off. All know he is a good player who's had a bad year, and with the right mentality will be back to his best for next season.
But you have to appreciate that there is a lot of animosity to the way he left then came back. He did 2 complete 180's on our club in the space of 6 months. It's hard to trust his commitment and motivation now. Not professionally or to his game because he's just that, professional; but to us.
I want him to stay because I think he's great, and an important link between midfield and attack as well as a source of goals. But I wouldn't be in the slightest bit suprised if he left again should an offer come in for him. And if he did leave then there's no point in worrying about it, it just meant that he never really wanted to come back and is probably better off elsewhere for the good of our club and his career.
There, how's that for balanced? I'm not sure I can be arsed discussing Keane anymore. I want him to stay and I hope he does.
Now, can we hurry up and sign Joe Cole and RVN?

You're taking it a bit too literally mate!
Players can lose performance due to injuries, getting old, bad attitude, of course. But the point is you see WAY too much knee jerking in football instead of considering all the facts and taking a considered approach that takes a wider view.
Form is temporary, class is permanent applies very much to Keane at the moment imo.
There's nothing wrong with him other than he had a horrid year in which Rafa treated him very unfairly and lost his confidence. He will be back with a bang, in fact he never stopped playing well for Ireland, has 6 in 7 games or something.

It's about team goals for and against not just goals for and especially not just goals for one individual. By your logic Bent is the best striker we have, but he ain't.
When Keane gets back to form his stats for spurs are as good as Defoe and he will link the play. When any two of Bent, Pav and Defoe play the play breaks down and we concede too many goals as a result as we don't have the control and territory we should have.
Also Harry has become notorious for a very solid brand of football. He wants to build on rock solid defensive stability and definitely not overcommit attacking wise.
You will see defensive records broken under him but not many attacking ones. And I'm not calling it boring either because it's not that, it's just conservative.
With the introduction of Wilson and Keane the team became far better at winning the ball back thanks to Wilson and far better at holding possession thanks to Keane, even when he went into horrible form.
And that would be reflected in the team's performances, points and the goal difference, which is all that matters.
I said those were the two main types of players we needed to get and it would make a big difference, and that's exactly what happened.
Next year we need a top target man and a top midfielder, central or left, play the target man with Keane, have Keane, Modric and Lennon all link up on top of the solid defensive base we now have and we will have a serious team capable of finishing fourth.
Well on his own for a team like Liverpool won't work, as they play loose early balls to be latched onto by a pace merchant or if a defender gets it they press up and hunt him down. That will never work with Keane, Tevez, Robinho or players like that.
Possession football and all into feet and one-twos would imo. Anyway, what does it matter?
I agree in the teams he's played for that have played a mixed style he has played his best football with a big man.

Keane's been outstanding for spurs over the years. Hardly an eccentric or maverick opinion you f*cking imbecile. Take a look at the player of year awards and who's wearing the captains armband.
My opinion is totally rational, you just want to pick fights because you're such a sad excuse for a human being.
He's not on the level of King or Modric, but he's a very fine player with tremendous record, not to mention great to watch, that is often underappreciated.
That year he was certainly one of the key players. He ousted Defoe with some brilliant displays and formed a partnership with Mido that was working very well to win us matches on the platform of a solid spine that was playing some good stuff.
A SPINE that had a huge amount to do with Davids. Anyone who doesn't get that just doesn't really understand football. You don't really get football, you think you do but you are just a voyeur, an anorak, with an intellectual understanding of not such a high note that lacks experience and contact with the real thing.
It leads to flawed thinking, the worst part being that you always think you are right and infallible. You're nothing, some shitbox on a forum that only criticises other people. My definition of a nobody is someone who does f*ck all but criticise.
Mods, why the F*CK is this guy still here?
I don't care how bad I look dealing with this guy, I'm perfectly within my rights and anyone with half a brain can see that.
I agree with you there. I don't think he was ever great on crosses though. But you're right he was excellent that year, excellent.
That's why it's so confusing how he went SO bad, and it wasn't just form as it went on and on and on.
When he went past six months of atrocious keeping that's when he should have been dropped, not left in for another 2 years! One of Jol's biggest mistakes and not just for spurs and Jol but I believe it hurt Robbo so much that it also gave him a huge mental battle that he still is dealing with today, on top of the problems he has with movement.

So I thought as a joke I would posts some old choda posts.
