Not usually an optimist and really don't put much thought into pre season, but things are looking really good for Spurs. Berbatov could turn out to be one piece of of the puzzle that was missing last season. We do however need a srong left sided attacking midfielder and it'd too bad that Duff isn't going to be that person. I think signing someone in that role before the start of the season will make a huge difference. Some may laugh at this but I think Spurs could well finish above both Arsenal and Man Utd next season but only if we have someone to balance Lennon on the right.
have to say that the board and management are doing a great job.

Is Ghaly left footed ? He did quite well last night judging from the BBC Radio commentary.

I hear Routledge was in at RB for the Brum game. Could him or Ghaly hold th ekey there do you think? Save us a few bob!

From what I heard on the BBC radio coverage Routledge did a serviceable job at RB and got forward into handy positions on numerous occaisions. Mind you it was only Birmingham, lets not get too carried away.

It looks very promising... What about Routledge on the left, Carrick and JJ/Zokora in the middle, and Lennon on the right??
I think Router has played on the left a few times for Palace...

The only way we are going to challenge is if we have a really strong squad. Let's not forget that last season we were pretty fortunate with injuries. As Manchester Rowdies and The Scum proved last year get a few key injuries at the beginning of the season and you are screwed.
It is imperative that we keep everyone fit and covered from the start of the season.

we are 2 players away from completing the jigsaw. a LB & RB are needed. yes we do have 2 players for those positions and others who CAN cover but we will be playing a lot more games next season and need more than just stop gaps, we need quality all over the pitch if we are to challenge for anytjhing. this is why i dont like the idea of Lennon or Routledge on the left as that is a bodge job imo as they are not leftie's.
on the RB front im not entirly sure if we will sign someone as Stalteri is a good player who MJ seems to like, Lee is a RB origionally and we have Ifil coming through and i think he will break in this season.

So we need a left winger as well...
The right back is more of a problem than the left-back, but i'd actually be happy to give it to young Phillip. (Cue numerous abusive remarks saying he is too young)

WTF he's far too young u idiot lol, nah i think we should give him a go as well, provided he has a good pre-season. i seem to recall him doing a good job in the couple of league games he played at the strat of Santini's brief spell at the helm

Well he kept Harry Kewell quiet...although saying that, it might not be too hard. But he was only 16 at the time, so it's worth a mention.

yeh try ifill definitley his value will soar too if he plays pretty much a whole season so unless he cocks up more that Stalts did we are on a win win situation
left wing Lua Lua is making serious noises to move from Pompey , im undecided on him tho he is way too clever for Newcastles and Pompeys players and may look better with ours.
i know MJ will sort it one way or another

I'm hearing Ghaly has had a good pre-season and provided Berbatov with assists for both his strikes against Birmingham. Can't wait for the season to start proper!!!
