We need a win! But what kind of team you hoping Jol puts out? any changes you would make? Can we bounce back from the Newcastle defeat?

i think naybet should play instead of gardner. davenport or huddlestone if ledley is still unfit. I would play jenas central with carrick, dropping davids in the process and recall routledge from his loan to play on the left with lennon on the right. I would play defoe and keane together.

A win is essential! I totally agree with Naybet in for Gardner if Ledley is not fit. I've never rated Gardner and he only woke up on Saturday after the 3rd barcode goal went in.

Lately Carrick has been giving away bad passes but he seems to be Jol's golden boy because he just will not sub him. Carrick for Murphy seems to be the ideal replacement for me. I'd always start with Carrick, but if he is having a bad game he should be subbed. One final thing with Carrick and this is his only problem, he just does not attack enough or score enough goals for a player who everyone seems to think is International quality.

Will Dawson be suspended (should be)? If so it's two from Ledders, Davenport, Naybet, Gardener and Hudds.

If Ledders is injured I would go with Naybet and Hudds, experience and youth, although I worry that Vassel will shake up whoever we play there and we may be forced deeper than we would like...

Have you noticed that Naybet has not been seen since Saddam Hussain has been back in court. Just add a beard ...

King is hopeful of being fit for the game - if so I'd play Huddlestone with King. Gardner is a liability.

You Know Hes Not Gonna Play The Hudd And We All Know He Aint Gonna Drop Davids!

Davids has got to be dropped after his performances against Toon and West Brom. Stick Tanio and Carrick in the middle. Jenas on the right and Lennon on the left.

has he got the bottle to drop davids tho, that is the question?

davids has to be dropped. I thought he did atleast look fitter last week, but he let bowyer go in the box and then got chumped into giving away a pen. Should be a good wake up call for him.
Would like to see tainio on the left thought he did ok there against whoever it was he scored against, lennon can give a bit more balance on the right. Jenas speed should equal out musampa so should be a good open game. Has to play defoe and keane upfront for me. City have no pace at the back at all.

Agree about carrick also, he has to push up and contribute to attack or leave him out. it's ok him being a good player but we need assists and goals from players. Our midfield really is a muddle and i don't think jol knows his best side which scares me a little.

I agree. We need to keep strong in midfiled with joey barton

If a player isn't performing then I hope he doesn't stay in the team just because of his reputation. Everyone needs a boot up the arse now and again to keep them in line.

I wouldnt drop Carrick as although he drifts in games, two vital goals against Brum (I think) and West Brom came direct from his through balls - he makes goals out of nothing at times...

I think Murphy should get a chance in midfield with Carrick especially at home where we have more of the ball. I'd play Tainio left with Lennon right. At the back surely he cannot play Gardner. A liability is an understatement. Defoe + Keane for me with murphy threading the killer pass for either to finish off.

Naybet hasn't been anywhere near a Premiership pitch in how long? I think he's just there to teach the kids a thing or two til the end of the season. Doubt we'll see him kick a ball in anger!

I agree on Carrick / Murphy, but I would start with Lennon on the left and Jenas on the right. Only issue there is Lee (who loves the overlap) but he is acually suprisingly good as a defender, so if he can be convinced not to bomb forward it should work - he hasn't done when Lennon has switched in previous games.

i would like to see Jol drop the dead donkey for the city game, and i think if he does Davids would react very professionally, force his way into the team and play with some of that form he was in at the start of the season which got him recalled into the Holland squad. Jenas plays centrally, Davids finds his form and makes the world cup, we finish fourth and everyone's a winner. except the gooners of course who get battered by Villareal. we live in hope

i think we need to put reid in on the left for a game. yes i know he hasnt been good for us but even if he puts in 3 or 4 crosses in the whole game we stand a chance of scoring. spurs are the only team in the premiership that dont whip balls in a cross into the box when they get the chance. its time to start doing it and panic defences like teams do to us!!

reid is by far the best crosser in the spurs squad

just a thought

Spur

Reid is a great crosser/passer, it's just the rest of his game that is rather poor.

against city 3 points are essential and thankfully joey barton will miss the match. i think we need to go and attack city with some width. i think davids should be dropped with jenas moving in to the center, lennon on the right and reid on the left. mido and keano leading the line. murphy on the bench to come on in place of carrick if he plays as poor as he recently has. in defence if king is fit which i believe he will be as he has trained today. if so it should be king and huddlestone if not then naybet and huddlestone. City will be dangerous due to the attack from manager stuart pearce on tv but we need to make home advantage count and really send a message to arsenal.

Most of all need total concentration over full 90+ minutes. Late goals have cost us dear this season and we cannot afford any slips from now til it's all over. Watching the Gooners this week and last shows that they are really up for the CL and 4th place may not even be enough for us, so it's vital that we hang onto what we have and maybe have to amke do with Eufa Cup. Two reasonable results this week, Wigan & Birmingham taking points, have helped a bit. Let's see Huddlestone get a chance this week, we won't know how he can handle pressure til it's put to him. And for God's sake Mido, play the game & stop whining. Robinson, Kelly, King, Huddlestone, Lee,Jenas, Carrick, Davids, Lennon, Keane and Mido. What do you think ?

For me Davids is only off form and he is only a booking away from gettign a ban. So i would rest him for the next 2 games. Bring in Murphy or Taino, keep Jenas and Carrick in the middle, and then bring Edgar back for the massive games against Man U and then Arsenal.
