View Full Version : Two Realistic Signings

Name two realistic signings that you would like this Summer.
Mine would be:
1. Petrov from City, they will get a better player there. If not him then Duff :) and please NOT Downing!
2. Keep Palacios, Lennon and Modric.

hmm.
Petrov is too injury prone from what I remember.
1. Downing, good cover for the left, gives us a new dimension if Modric isnt working well on left
2. Hard to think, Id suggest a tall powerfull striker, Drogba-esque but not as annoying. With bent probably leaving, its inevitable were going to need someone stable to play with either Keane/ Defoe up front. Id like Santa Cruz but the valuation is abit too extreme. Jo from Man city would be an interesting buy, hes got flair and is pretty stable.

1. Carew - hopefully including Bentley in the deal, so we would be getting a type of player we would really need plus some change!
2. Muntari - even though he has come out and said he wants to stay at Inter, he would be ideal to play alongside Wilson and really beef us up - plus he can play on the left, were Modirc to get injured.
They would be my two.
I would like this line up:
Gomes
Corluka
King
Woody
BAE
Lennon
Palacios
Muntari
Modric
Carew
Defoe

Infact selling JJ to Inter and Bentley to say Villa or someone, and bringing in Carew and Muntari - we could more than balance the books this summer taking into account additional sales.
Carew and Muntari would be excellent signings for us, give us real balance in terms of strength and flair in the side. If we got those two and sold the likes of Bentley, Pav or Bent, Zokora, JJ or the Thudd we could make a nice healthy profit and would of strengthened the side significantly :001_smile:
But then again we will probably buy the type of player we dont need!! What do I know!!
Just as I write this, nothing we didn't really know, pitty but:

One centre mid and a strike partner to play with Keane or Defoe. It's all we should be getting unless real quality becomes available to us.
Failing that, bring in Chris Samba, Nikola zigic and Peter Crouch for a triple lank attack.

I think we are all agreed that we need a central midfielder and a centre forward. for me i would like to see:
1. Central midfielder: Rafael Van Der Vaart or Deco
2. Centre Forward: Marouane Chamakh or Jo but wouldnt be upset with Crouch

1. RVN, would be very good, and we could have a use for our man david every now and them as RVD is good in air
2. Talks saying RVN is a cover and we are in for Huntelaar. Also Talks On Fernando Gago. So ill take Either one. A good midfielder would do :)

I honeslty havent got a problem with real winning the title. As long as the english teams win **** all in europe than I'm happy. Barca last season were the only team capable of stopping the english teams hopefully real can do the same.

What happened to Veloso? This time last year everyone here was screaming for his signature? What sort of season has he had? Is he off somewhere else?
Realistically I think we will get, Crouch and Figuero (if BAE is off). Maybe Samba too.

if we were to get a awesome left winger or left midfielder do you lot think modric would be able to hack it in the centre. he only really seemed to come into his own when he was put out on the left.
however maybe that was just coincidence though, maybe he needed a few games to get to grips with the physical side of the prem. the only time i saw him have a good game in the middle was against stoke at home?? but their midfield, esp that night was nothing to shout home about
it might have been just me but did anyone else seem to think that players started backing off him and giving him more space on the left. early in the season players were jumping in on him as though to try and scare him and it seemed to work

There's no need to be sorry gomessi.
He doesn't conduct himself very well away from the pitch. Likes a WKD or three. That's what's been around anyway. Likes the high life.

Stupid avatar  It's more about Modric than Cruyff :001_smile:
And Barca isn't really his true passion, we just take the piss out of him because he loves the way they play and he goes on about it - but we all love watching them... and yes it is a good one :001_smile: But he's kind of used to it now and doesn't really mind

celtic or spurs if you had to pick one which one
there must be something else that winds him up. just make federer jokes! he'd get so wound up especially because most of us are football fans and we wont have the same understanding of tennis as he does. Just say something like murray is better than fedrerer and that should get him going! Maybe federer isnt the greatest or half naked pics of other tennis players!

If I was forced to choose it would be Spurs, because I'm much closer to Spurs. I have a season ticket and I'm just much more in the Spurs loop.
