Talk about the game here, before during and after the match.

you would think without heskey they will be a lot less of a threat. I expect it to be pretty tight as we're likely to make a lot of changes, but we should have enough quality to win by a couple. Hope berby gets off the mark.

Hi,

Welcome to THFCTalk. It's a 3pm kick-off and isnt on tv - although I'll be adding photos during the match and after the 90 mins. Will post the link when I get them.

Routledge is playing RB today. Thoughts?

Routledge is playing RB today. Thoughts?

should be interesting to see his defensive capabilities, we all know he is strong going forward so i dont expect him to play the whole 90 at RB, we could possibly see Ghaly take up the post again, he didnt seem to have a bad game against Celta Vigo

Does anyone know of any footage of this game? I'm desperate to see Berbatov's goals (especially the second!)

Also, is there video of the goals from the France friendlies?

Well chuffed that Berbatov is off the mark!

COYS!

I'm pretty sure that Ghaly plays right back... he played that in one of the friendlies in france, and Routledge can't play a right back...

shoot_ffs
22nd July 2006, 03:41 PM
ghaly only played right back in france coz salty is injured and ifil played the day before.

highlander

hopefully Berby scores a hat-trick
it would be great for him to net 3, especially as it is against opposition which is fairly strong

The game is on bbc london radio 94.9, ive just tuned in from my pc.

58th min: ziegler on for ghaly

look at the side, it looks pretty good as it is and we are still missing lennon, jenas, robbo and carrick...COYS

incidentally, is anyone gonna watch the bergkamp testimonial tonight?

highlander
22nd July 2006, 04:19 PM
loks like Routledge may complete the full 90 at RB, or Ifil will replace him in a straight swap

DonJolSpurano
22nd July 2006, 04:24 PM
64th min: murphy for keano

highlander
22nd July 2006, 04:25 PM
back to 4-4-2 then

DonJolSpurano
22nd July 2006, 04:27 PM
davenport and ifil are now on for king and routers

looks like their trying to close out the game and slow it down now.

and now, with about 18mins left, barney has come on for berby

highlander
22nd July 2006, 04:39 PM
no chance of a hat trick for berbie but still 2 goals is a great way 2 open his account allbeit in a friendly. hopefully barney will get on the scoresheet

DonJolSpurano
22nd July 2006, 04:41 PM
yea its good to see him score. he needed it to boost his confidence before the season starts. his second was excellently taken, cant ever say we saw mido do that lol

defoes having an excellent game though

highlander
22nd July 2006, 04:50 PM
O'Hara on for Defoe which was fairly pointless as it had little effect and the games over now. a very good win

DonJolSpurano
22nd July 2006, 04:51 PM
they're really praising berby at the moment, sounds promising. COYS

suBerb
22nd July 2006, 04:56 PM
in the last two seasons Berbie scored 50 for Bayer (26 in 2004-05 and 24 in 2005-06)...Hopefully he will do the same for the Spurs.

DonJolSpurano
22nd July 2006, 05:00 PM
EEEEEEEEEE edgar davids is at emirates for bergkamps testimonial, but he's in an ajax shirt.

shoot_ffs
22nd July 2006, 06:25 PM
regards SSN, they keep saying they'll show the goals, probably be a 10pm job.

highlander
22nd July 2006, 06:27 PM
its always the same, spurs are always amongst the last to be shown for anything no matter what unless its against the champions.

yep thats cos the TV guys know that they are well worth waiting for and most people, even neutrals and others fans, will wait to see them

highlander
22nd July 2006, 06:54 PM
on SSN it said they would show the pre-season action on evening report thing at 5 o' clock, so i tune in at 5. 1 hour and 53minutes later it goes to the surs game and i didnt even get to see any football it was just reaction to the game from steve bruce and chris hughton, not even MJ. its ****ed me right off

shoot_ffs
22nd July 2006, 07:36 PM
i hate it when SSN stitch you up. they've shown villa and just about everyone else. wonder if they are going to show them now.

SurreySpur
22nd July 2006, 08:18 PM
they haven't shown a single goal from pre-season yet. I just wonder wether its an issue with the kit, seeing how it hasn't had an official unveiling.

shoot_ffs
22nd July 2006, 08:41 PM
yer could be.

SSS
23rd July 2006, 12:04 AM

Steve Bruce:

"We were up against a really good team who scored two goals in just over ten minutes," said the Blues boss.

"They were stunning goals from a striker who looks as if he could be one of those imports we all hear about.

"He's been Bulgarian footballer of the year for something like the last five years and looks a very, very good player.

"His second goal was fantastic and absolutely top draw.

"With the formation they played with Robbie Keane playing off the two strikers Defoe and Berbatov they were caused us all sort of problems.
