We're linked with Jonas Gutierrez but Wolfsburg also want him

Stoke and us are after Richard Dunne

RSC and Ruud van Horseface are targets for Redknapp

Bentley and 8mil for Ashley "I'm just a shit Aaron Lennon" Young

Gunter is linked with another year loan at Forest which would be good for the lad although the NOTW seems to think he's 26

Moyes likes the look of Hutton but I'd rather we kept him myself

Frazier on his way to Hull for 6mil surprise surprise

Giovani on his way to Espanyol I had high hopes for him but it seems he's abit stuck up his own arse

I guess that's enough shite for one thread

NOW are reporting that we are going for RSC for a bid of £10m.

A lot of that is really weird :tongue_smilie:

Why bid 10 million for Santa-Cruz when Blackburn demanded 25 million from City?

Why on earth would Stoke think they could get Richard Dunne?

Why do we want Gutierrez? Where could he possibly fit in?

Gunter isn't 26, I don't think he's not even 20 :001_rolleyes:

I rate Jonas he's probably the only player I'd take from the barcodes. He could act as cover for both wings and he's a bigger guy with skill and a direct style he'd definately give us options off the bench or be quality cover in case of injury to Modric or Lennon. The guys a Argy international and at 25 he's got a good few years left in him.

I rate him too, but my problem with him would be where do we play him. He's nowhere near as good as Modric or Lennon.

Jonas Gutierrez is a shit footballer and I wouldnt even have him as back up. He cant shoot, average passer and he goes missing most of the time.

He looked shite at Mallorca and he still looks shit at the barcodes.

oh and JJ has double the number of international caps jonas has so what does that tell you.

I've got a feeling some fans reckon he's good just because he can dribble with the ball. :confused1:

graham hunter talks a lot of sense but I'm not sure about his opinion on Gutierez.

I dont think he'll be getting anymore caps. Initially he looked very good at Mallorca but he hasnt made an impact for a very long time.

Gomessi dont agree at all with you on Jonas. I would certainly take him, infact he is the only Newcastle player I would consider - well maybe Bassong.

Jonas has one hell of an engine on him and is pretty tidy on the ball to. Infact away from home he would really beef up are options for midfield. I have watched him on numerous occassions and he shows great endeavour and enterprise in my opinion - relly puts the effort in. Okay he's nothing special in terms of real quality on the ball but he works very hard when chasing the oppossition down and trying to get the ball back - we need more of this, he could be feeding the likes of Modric and co.

Ruud the horse rumours are very strong. I think he'd be a great signing. He could easily have three more years in him. Never had great pace anyway. The dutch touch will still be there, the movement and the deadly finishing. Keane will be back to best after he gets this season behind him. He and Keane would link up and be deadly.

dont doubt his effort but his end product is sorely lacking which is basically what you said. How many goals and assist has he got for newcastle? How many goals and assists did he get for mallorca?

Like I said I've seen him in la liga and the prem and he hasnt impressed me.

and so what if he played for argentina he didnt have a great game and maradona is no genius when it comes to management.

need some evidence. Is it itk stuff from a reliable source?

If he is fit and able to play I'd sign him but it depends how bad the injury is.

Who's got anything this season for Newcastle? Having 4 managers in a season does that for you.

I can imagine the sort of player Maradona might pick, but one that "is a shit footballer...cant shoot, average passer and he goes missing most of the time" seems rather unlikely.

100% spot on:thumbup1:

the lad gets 1 assist every 10-15 games and 1 goal every 20-25 games. (apologise if the figures are wrong but its something like this this).

He frustrated at mallorca in just the same way and he isnt a youngster so he doesnt have any excuse.

Talk of the devil:

Spurs and Wolfsburg eye Jonas
Jun 7 2009 by Neil Farrington, Evening Chronicle
JONAS GUTIERREZ is set to spark some summer Argie-bargie between Tottenham and the Germans.

The Sunday Sun has learned that Newcastle’s Argentine winger has emerged as a target for a top Bundesliga club.

But Spurs are also eyeing the 26-year-old, who United will look to cash in on, regardless of the identity of their next manager.

German champions Wolfsburg are among the likeliest bidders for Gutierrez, whose stock remains high because of his enduring place in the Argentina squad.

Newcastle hope to recoup all or most of the near-£5m they were forced to pay for Gutierrez after being taken to court by his former club, Real Mallorca.

And Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is still an admirer, having missed out on “Spiderman” while managing Portsmouth.

The bastion of football knowledge that is - The Daily Star. Hutton to Villa:
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/8...for-5m-Hutton-/

MARTIN O’NEILL has lined up a £5million raid on Spurs for Scotland international Alan Hutton.

O’Neill is ready to make a cut-price bid for ex-Rangers defender Hutton this summer and bring him to Villa Park.

Hutton was signed for £9m by ill-fated Spurs boss Juande Ramos in January last year – but he will be made available by Harry Redknapp.

O’Neill knows the defender, 24, from his time in charge at Celtic.

He is preparing a bid shortly as he wants to provide competition at right-back for Luke Young
Good article, loads of quotes, and I personally hope it's true.

Not just one Aaron Lennon then.

Spurs player of the year. Always stretches teams and has 5 goals and 6 assists to his name and he's only 21 so still time to improve.

Gutierex 0 goals 1 or 2 assists doesnt stretch teams in the same way and is just a headless chicken running down blind alleys. sounds a bit like zokora didnt he get to the world cup.

Guttierez sounds like last season's Lennon. Lennon might have had an excuse had he ever played in a side as bad as Newcastle.

Argentina are rather more than one class above Ivory Coast, aren't they? They've a lad playing for them who even you think is more than quite good, possibly better than Ronaldo.

Prem trio chasing Scharner
Versatile midfielder interesting Spurs, Everton and Fulham

Wigan midfielder Paul Scharner says Tottenham, Everton and Fulham are all interested in signing him.

The versatile Austrian has two years left on his contract at the JJB Stadium but recently expressed his desire to leave to take the 'next step' in his career.

The 29-year-old told BZ am Sonntag that there is also interest from Bundesliga sides, but he would like to stay in the Premier League.

He said: "Tottenham, Everton and Fulham are interested in me, just like Hertha and Hamburg.

"I would prefer to stay in England."

could be a good squad player. versitile tough tackler wouldn't be a bad option off the bench. could be a good Zokora replacement and cheaper too.

Yea, he's a good player to have defo. Not a stand out talent or having any major qualities, but very versatile and a reliable player, always seems to perform. The type that gets the tackles in without any fuss and scores a few goals. Not a world beater but a fine player.

Always the fittest player at his clubs too because he takes care of himself and does extra training. Known as the best trainer at Wigan. Solid player, I'd be in favour.
