A little explosion of info of sorts. Believe what you want.
Mil-THFC on SO says:
He wants to come to us.....he wants to live in london, we want him...just a case of sorting the money side of things. im confident this will go tits up.
Regarding Sanli Tuncay.
Archibald has backed him up in the thread apparently.
Archie also has this to say:
Villa enquired about Zokora
BAE tried to buy out his final yr of contract as Ar5ena1 and SPanish teams after him.
DL exercised option in his contract for further 2 years
Moodster on COYS says this about Lennon:
Friend of a friend was in the same restaurant as Harry recently, and asked him about Lennon. Harry said he is for sale, at the right price, but Liverpool don't want him.
Not sure how trustworthy this bloke is (The friend of a friend, not Harry), and I guess everybody is for sale at the right price, but thought I'd share.
Gorans left peg on COYS has this to say regarding our one time Bulgarian 'legend', and United:
From a mate (of a mate) who works at the club although i did hear this guy talking about Carrington and training with the players etc.
They hate Berbs, he;s still a loner even up in Manchester!
They have definately signed Valencia from Wigan
Sunderland Spur has found this snippet from a Sunderland forum:
Cisse definately off to Spurs at the end of the season.............Don't ask me for the source, I cannot divulge, they're just waiting for the ink to dry on the contract I eas told, it's been in the offing for weeks, that's the reason he doesn't give a fvck.
http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=410316
dont know how reliable this guy is, thought id pass on
I've not checked out that link btw, it may be worthwhile.
Jurgenthegerman has this to say about our very own David Beckham:
just had a drink with a former director of a norvern football club... um a song about Tara Browne this football club had how many holes ? Anyway to cut a long story short they reckon spurs "done them up like a kipper " over a certain flash car who plies his trade as a right winger ?
Confirms that he is talking about DB after. This exact same scenario was mentioned several weeks back by someone else btw.
And Melsey on COYS goes ahead with "Just Heard":
Scott Brown - deal rising to 10mil
Done deal
(Comes from a Celtic Director)
That is all.

Lennon for sale? bollox. He's only just signed a new contract with the club this year. Lennon is very settled at Tottenham, he doesnt want to go anywhere, so I don't believe that particular source one bit.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.... not all fantastic news....
Scott Brown is a very good player, but he's really just a lesser version of Palacios. I can't see how he would fit in. I didn't understand that bit about Bentley at all, what did it mean?
The Cissé and Lennon stuff wasn't very good news, though I suppose we sort of knew that Lennon would go for the right price
As for Berbatov, I saw Vidic on Soccer AM the other week saying that he was good friends with Berbatov... not that it really matters to us how many friends he has in Manchester so I don't know why the guy mentioned that.
So is BAE staying for another two years then? Levy has extended his contract? Would be a disaster if he went to Arsenal just as he came good :cursing:
I really like Tuncay, but don't see where he would fit in, especially if we got Cissé :confused1:
Don't really mind if Zokora leaves, much as I love him he's not going to have a place in the team anymore, especially if Scott Brown does arrive. Maybe he's Zokora's replacement for the bench?

Berbatov signed a contract not long before he left. Didn't Keane aswell? Contracts mean nothing at Spurs

I didn't understand that bit about Bentley at all, what did it mean?
It was suggested a week or two ago that the reason we hadn't seen Bentley was because the appearances part of the deal we made with B'Burn comes into play. It sort of makes sense, as he is stuck on 24 league apps, and I think it's 34 overall.
He was also asked by someone elsewhere a month ago if we'd see him on the upcoming Saturday, to which his reply was apparently along the lines of "fat chance".
So is BAE staying for another two years then? Levy has extended his contract? Would be a disaster if he went to Arsenal just as he came good :cursing:
He done the same with Steo Kelly a couple years back. His contract had run out, he was about to sign for Brum on a free, we took the one year option we had on him and sold him for £1 million. It's a quick way of boosting up a players price.
I fully expect BAE to move on this summer.

Dont believe Lennon will go as I dont see anyone forking out 20 mil plus. Rafa already got his fingers burnt once with us.
Cisse I cant see coming at all, very surprised if Harry fancies him...I would rather keep Bent if thats the case.
Tuncay would be a great signing, i rate him, but not sure where he would fit in.

I also like Tuncay but he isn't what we need IMO, I believe we need a big strong target man who is able to open the game up and score 15 goals a season. I rate Tuncay but not much of a goalscorer.
Scott Brown will be a waste of money, the lad is a hot head who imo wouldn't be an up grade on JJ. I could be wrong but he is not the new roy keane.

Brown has matured a lot this season, improved his passing aswell, he's less sloppy than last year. He won Scottish player of the year, which means something, regardless of what you think of the SPL. I think he could compete with JJ at the very least. I'm not one of the ones who always slags off Jenas but I haven't been very impressed with him this season at all.

His best moment of the season was his goal at Arsenal, i think it has been another average season from JJ to be honest. To be fair he has done well in certain games with Palacios alongside him but overall I would say it's been another 'average' season for him.

None of this is what I want to hear. We can really do alot better than bloody Tuncay, in fact we have better than bloody Tuncay.
I don't like it, but I'm not suprised at all about Lennon. We have form of selling our best players to the highest bidder, in fact we do it every year. £20 million to 'Pool I reckon.
Cisse. Shite, don't want him at all and doesn't suit the club.
Zokora, fine although I'd expect him to go to Marseille, despite his preference for the EPL.
BAE mentioned wanting to return to France a while ago. I hope not as he's great for us now.
I have no valid opinion on Scott Brown, except he plays for Celtic so there are the usual question of being able to cut it in the Premiership, and for £10m it's too big a risk.

I still think Crouch will be target at the top of the list.
I think Brown could happen though on that list of info. Cisse...:scared:

No way is Lennon up for sale that's utter tosh especially since Bentley clearly is.
Ekotto wanting to leave is believable because we keep getting linked to LBs.
I don't want Cisse that is certain. I think Tuncay and Brown could be good squad players and Brown could maybe be a starter if he adapts well to the EPL.
Zokora to Villa sounds good 8mil please and off you go or maybe a part exchange for Barry ok maybe not

If scott brown cant pass why the hell do we want him. Its like going from one extreme to another. Previously we were a soft toucj now we're getting some steel in the middle but lacking in technical abilty.
I want a deep lying playmaker in the alonos mould and scott brown doesnt sound that sort of player.

His passing certainly was a weakness, but has improved greatly. He's just calmed down a lot; instead of tearing round the pitch like a lunatic the whole time, he's realised when it's appropiate to do that and when it's better just to sit and hold his position. He's a lot like Scott Parker. His passing has improved probably as a result of him being more calm and level headed. He's certainly no Alonso, but a very good player in my eyes.

I havent got an opinion on him because I havent seen him play 90.
I dont like to have an opinion on a player based on reports from others I prefer to see players then judge them.
I've heard conflicting repors on him tbh. I would never sign a player with poor passing ability for a cm spot btw. Palacios isnt poor he's average IMO.

Petrov has been fantastic this year. From an outsiders view I would've said he was theor best player, I'm surprised he got it though, I would've thought Villa fans would've gone with whoe scores them the goals.

Do you believe he will improve us if he replaced JJ? I personally believe JJ is better than he is more versatile. I must say JJ has been brilliant since Palacios has came in, he has performed more consistently than Palacios and complements him well. I don't understand how you aint impressed with him and I don't mean that in a disrespectful way because I believe he has clearly been in form of late.
That doesn't stop me wanting competition but Scott Brown doesn't do it for me, we need someone who can compete but can pass the ball because Palacios can be lackluster sometimes on the ball.
The form we have been in since Harry has been in charged I don't see any reason to make drastic changes and I can't see Harry replacing JJ more likely zokora or hudd.

I think Brown could be a good player for us, that's all I will say about it. He's a very strong player. He and Wilson would be a nightmare to play against, much like I think JoH and himself would be and Modric and Lennon well covered and a match for anyone in central midfield.
Thing is I'm not sure how many goals he would get on top of that. JoH would get more. But JoH has to get games in central midfield and prove what me and some others think about what he can achieve.

Not someone a load of people that I respect highly and from what I remember you have seen a few games only by highlights which were JJ's good games. Infact when JJ has a good game you hardly ever post, the same with defoe.
JJ was the best performer in the middle against boro, sunderland, villa away, both played excellent against chelsea, was better against rover away, JJ was oustanding in the first half against united, palacios was outstanding in the second half, JJ was excellent against everton away, west brom and man city.
Couldn't lace his boots? Is that a joke they both look brilliant alongside eachother its not a one man show. Palacios hasn't performed brilliantly in every game he has been sloppy at times with his passing.
Anyone who has watched spurs with an open mind with no vendetta's would praise jj for his consistent performances in cm. So stop trying to make out my opinion is so left field and silly because its not. Go watch the games back from the arsenal game till now and you wouldn't be so dismissive of my views.

I'll tell you what's left field, it's saying I hardly post after a good game from Defoe or JJ. That's pure rubbish. I deliberately make a point of praising when they do what I think they should be doing in their positions. I heaped praise on Defoe after the city game. I also heaped praise on JJ after the chelsea game.
Most of those other games I thought he was still hiding. He's nowhere near Palacious imo, not-even-close. Wilson will control the game with his presence, key interceptions and the way he is in the right place so he can make big tackles and he does it tough and powerfully. He often emerges with the ball even when it was 70-30 against that he'd completely win the tackle as opposed to just making a good tackle and breaking up play.
Overall JJ has had another shocking season imo aside from a decent spell when a colossus came in beside him and did a lot of the real cm work for him and spurred him to do a bit more than his piggy in the middle routine hiding away from real telling tackles and not taking responsibility on the ball until he is in the final third.

I always make a point to see if you post after a good game from jj or defoe and you hardly ever do.
So palacios is the only one who makes tackles. Your going overboard with trying to make palacios sound like rambo with this 70/30 malarky. How you feel JJ goes hiding when we have been on a great run of form since harry has came in which took off when JJ and Palacios was paired togeather in cm, not JOH or corluka. Everyone had a bad season up to the point of Harry joining us, JJ was injured and then as soon he was brought back in the side we start to consistently win. It wasn't just jj it was everything from palacios to king to then harry finding his best 11.
JJ hiding from tackles? As I said watch all the games since Arsenal at home and you won't be able to say that again with a straight face.
JJ has had a great second half of the season and calling it a spell is shocking when you think of how many points we have won when he has been in the side.

I think he's had a good second half of the season but isnt that down to playing with palacios. Villa away and Chelsea hom being his best games.
Even you said its hard for JJ to play alogside hudd because hes crap. Without palacios JJ would look poor.
Palacios looked good even when he played with cattermole and he is a terrible footballer.
I would definatly keep JJ becuase he has formed a promising partnership with palacios. However when palacios gets injured I really do worry JJ will go back to his old self.
I actually wouldnt be to dissapointed with a lennon jj pal and modric midfield. Its probably the 5th best in the prem which is something we couldnt say last season.

Yes there great togeather but Palacios still hasn't been on top form. JJ still performed great against Everton winning tackles (remember how bad hudd was that day and how quiet modric was?) and man city before he went off.
I would like lennon jj palacios modric as our midfield next season unless we can get a barry but for once we our winning midfield battles and look like a team so why get rid of jj or change formation?
I can't see Harry wanting rid of JJ when he is performing well. Lets cut the guy some slack.

I have. Like I said I think he formed a good "partnership". :001_smile:
to say palacios hasnt been on top form just shows how good you think he will be and I think there is more to come.
Palacios has been very good in a lot of games there has onle been 3/4 games when he hasnt looked good.
was looking for a palacios v arsenal compilation but couldnt find it.

Yep that my point against arsenal at home he was out of this world and apart from chelsea at home he hasn't been near that form. I just believe as a pair they both complement eachother well and both need to be praised especially JJ.
What makes me excited about next season is that even when Palacios isn't having the greatest game we still win and dominate the midfield battle.

Yeah I agree. When palacios goes hunting to pressure JJ just drops deeper and via versa. Both like to cover teh ground and tackle so thats allowed modric and lennon to flourish. Even when we cameup against chelseas 3 pal and JJ looked very good.
I honestly think its palacios that has made the difference and its his presence thats allowed JJ to improve.
It doesnt matter to me really because they've both played well.
If we dont get an upgrade for JJ I wont be devastated but I would at least like another player similar to palacios to come in.
I would like an upgrade on JJ but I think harry is happy with jj-pal and is only looking for cover not sure but I trust harry.

That's utter rubbish. When I think a player has done well, not when YOU think he has done well I say it. There's a thing called opinion. Don't confuse your opinion with fact.
There's so many good players around JJ, which imo is making him look better than he is. This is close to being a top side, but it still can be improved. So what are the areas? Well a quality target man and a better central midfielder to play with Palacious is what I believe is exactly what we need.
You take away Palacious from that team and you'll realise I am not exaggerating about Wilson or about JJ.
Even when Wilson isn't at his best the sheer colossal presence, strength, mobility and ball winning is enormous and gives so much control.
He's also decent technically and has potential to be much better imo, much like Essien did when he first came and got much better with time.

JJ's done alright lately; put in some decent performances.
He just seems to be too slow, everything he does makes him look lazy, and considering he's the one that does all the running it's quite an accomplishment. It sums up his whole play. He'll get on the ball and that's it - impetus lost. The team suffers for it.
He looks a different player with Wilson beside him.
However, he'll never get any better and he needs to be shifted out still. I live in hope.

Say what you like I don't think I'm the only person who notices you don't like to complement certain players when they play well.
Saying other players make JJ look better isn't giving him enough credit and I'm not even gonna argue that point.

but the thing is sometimes I can hold a different opinion to you regarding JJ.
e.g. boro home I though JJ was average and you thought he had a good game.
Players do like to play with certain players though. E.g keane prefers to play with a berba type player.
I'm sure JJ likes to play with palacios and it has helped him playing alongside a good player. Surely a player gains confidence when he plays with someone he rates alogside him.

I'm talking about the cc final against united when he had a great game and everyone said he did. JJ was great in the 4.0 win against boro but when people keep denying he had a good game it gets tedious, same with defoe.
Yes of course but it still doesn't take the fact that JJ has been more consistent than him.
Also JJ slowing play down, nearly every player slows play down some stage during a game. Sometimes a player looks up doesn't see anything on so he keeps the ball and waits for everyone to get in position and start an attack. Similiar to lennon's boro goal which jj held onto the ball started the attack. Barry does the same.
I remember after one game people said JJ was sloppy and constently gave the ball away, I said he never and then someone on another forum got the match stats saying he never once gave the ball away.
I'm sure Harry is more than happy with his performance, he does a great job in guarding the defence with wilson and allowing mod/lennon to attack.

You're still confusing your opinion with fact. You do that in debates with people sometimes and say they have a bias and it's out of order.
When you slate Hudd and I thought he did well I don't say you just have a bias against him and don't give credit when it's due, even though I often think he's done better than the credit you give.

Its all opinions no one has used the word facts. People interpret things differently than others, some can't see how they react at times and hide behind other failures.
I could very well be describing myself, I leave others to judge.

This is the main reason why i dont rate JJ.
It doesnt take another player to make Wilson look awesome....Wilson just is. In an already short time Wilson has taken our midfield by storm and shown the other players what should be expected of them.
But with JJ it has taken Wilson showing him how it should be done, making JJ look better than he actually is.
JJ has had to raise his game 10 fold just to be close to the same level as Wilson, christ JJ should be playing like that every game, but when Wilson is not in the team JJ is back to his good ol average best again.
Really great players or even just good ones shouldnt rely on other players to make them look great or good, they just are, and JJ aint im afraid, JJ should be good on his own merits and not Wilsons. And whilst Wilson does make JJ look better, when he is not in the team JJ should be setting the same example but he rarely does step up to the plate when needed.
I would rather have 2 good players who play great all the time even when one is injured than 1 great player who make an average player look good when they play together, and then when that player gets injured the other player is average again.
But i would like to point out this is just my opinion, i am allowed one, right ??
Oh and i dont want another JJ debate either !!

That's it in a nutshell. And the point is JJ hasn't changed that much imo either it just looks a good partnership because one of them is a class act. Put in a proper strong player with Palacious and we could be very dominant in there in many games and that's huge in the modern game.
We haven't had that kind of foundation since Carrick and Davids. Since Wilson came in we are already looking like a potentially top side again.
It has f*ck all to do with JJ imo.
