"Selling Keane is a big gamble and Bentley apart, I am not impressed with the players they have brought in.
'If I was a Spurs fan I would be concerned. If Dimitar Berbatov (linked with a move to Manchester United) goes I would be worried about a lack of firepower.
'Darren Bent has been scoring a lot of goals in pre-season friendlies but he seems to find it much harder to score against the big boys.
'I know Spurs have been linked with Arshavin but I think he has been over-hyped. I'm not a big fan of Modric either. He looks ordinary to me but I can only assume Juande Ramos knows what he is doing.'

Bright, writing in Metro, said: "I watched the game with a view to running the rule over Tottenham’s new £16million midfielder Luka Modric but I was very disappointed.
"After an okay first half, in which he scored the only goal from the penalty spot, he looked poor and based on that showing, Spurs might have another Sergei Rebrov on their hands."

Believe me, they know, they just like to remind those who take a high and mighty attitude how wrong they've been in the past.
Still my favourite quote from our forum's Spanish pundit:
"I would say gomes will win us at least 10 points, but I,m hopeful of arshavin coming and inspiring the mighty spurs for a title challenge:D"
LMAO
Is he the only Spurs fan NOT hoping for a THIRD finish next year! :blushing:
Football's all about this - small-mindedness, bias, schoolboy humour, pettiness, parochialism, abuse, sneering, cheating, hypocrisy, loyalty, disloyalty. Don't start me on the players and managers!

There's no need for that. You don't seem to understand such behaviour is pathetic.
Especially when someone was in an optimistic humour. Gomes probably has won us ten points by the way, compared to Robbo for sure, even counting his bad patch. What people forget is that even in his bad patch he was making some massive saves.
And with Arshavin you are talking about one of the best players in the world. He'd impact any team.
You have to dream, this is spurs. Bill Nic was a dreamer and then he took those as aims and look what he did.
Next year we should be top six, that's not far away from top billing. If we get in the cl a title challenge could be on the following year.
Robson did it with Newcastle one year. Villa actually challenged for the title for half a season this year but just had a very tired team in the end.
I wouldn't rule anything out in football and spurs is a big club with sky's the limit potential.

Gray is a cock - no two ways about it I'm afraid.
Apparently he failed to notice that Bent scored 16 goals for Charlton bloody Athletic :001_rolleyes:
Apparently he failed to ever watch Luka Modric play :001_rolleyes:
I'll let him off on Bentley, the vast majority of the football world expected a lot better from him.

what a ****
everyone gets it wrong the difference between me and you is that I can admit it. However you persist with your pig headed stubborness and never admit to getting it wrong.
Oh and you still fail to see the irony of criticising my predictions. I'm top of IKTS where the **** are you.
If arshavin and diarra (another player I badly wanted) had arrived early we could have repilcated what villa did if several unforseen factors could be predicted. Since the january window shut we've averaged 1.9 points per game and a lot of that has been due to getting the right players in. The players most fans wanted (second striker + cm).
Gomes in the last 6 months probably has won us 10 points after christmas.
west brom, west ham, man u home, and a lot more. The fact is I've already showed harry does RATE him so that blows your argument away. Cudicini was shit in the 3 games he's played (bolton away, stike, and hull) and gomes deserves to be the number 1.

"He has shown character to come through what he came through. He has played every game and he hasn't hidden. He has had injuries that he might not have played with.
"His wrist was injured and the physios were saying he might not be able to play with it. But he did. He just kept on playing.
"He's been outstanding. I know a club that want to give us our money back for him.
"He was a big signing that we wanted to come good - and he has done excellent for us. I have been very pleased with him. He's shown bottle.
"He could have thrown in the towel after Fulham and said he couldn't play because of the injury - but he didn't."

Andy Gray was a decent player, no more no less, and a it of a journeyman as well now it comes to it. He was just one of those lesser knowns that sky picked up on the cheap when they got started. Anyone remember how crap their coverage was back then?! Awful. But Sky's coverage is led by the US owners instructing them to venture POSITIVE opinions etc on whoever makes the most money for them, so Gray's opinions are immedtiately INvalidated.
Plus he's an @rsehole.
Mark Bright... doesn't even register on my radar!!

Just seems like yet another pointless mind-numbing post. He said this, we said that, they did well, they did badly.... BORING
Honestly its easy to see why so many people are leaving this forum. Without being funny, the amount of pointless threads being started by certain members over the last few months is just irritating. This forum is full of people that just speak for the sake of speaking regardless of content.
