Here's (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060719) an article that is well worth reading, don't let it's length put you off, it is a very, VERY good read, IMHO.

Always nice to hear the word is spreading about our beloved Spurs!
Let's hope we have a cracking season and he writes great things about us (big potential market!)

Well done Mr Simmons. A fine choice. But 'EPL'? What is it about Yanks and needless acronyms?

'Aston Villa -- By all accounts, they have the most miserable, self-loathing fan base in the EPL. That's what happens when you support a team that sounds like a Cadillac model.'
That's a classic, i'm only half way through and its already quality.

Great article - thanks EN1. I never knew Ray Liotta was one of us. Or Bob Marley for that matter...

From what I've heard, this writer is quite a big deal in the US, and with him following Spurs now, I would imagine we will be getting a lot of coverage in the US. This can only be a good thing as we will slowly convert one of the biggest commercial countries in to Spurs fans, providing as with even more commercial revenue.

if bob can come back from being shot, he might just come back from the other side and kick your arse. he'd be a good shot too being a spurs fan. :)

As a balance the comic legend Peter Cook was a hard-core Spurs fan who if I do believe uttered on a Derek & Clive record the immortal line
"my old man said be an Arsenal fan, I said **** off, bollocks, you're a ****"
Great article btw.

He is a pretty big deal. When a new article of his comes out on his site, people call me. He used to be known as the "Boston Sports Guy" before signing on with ESPN.com. I have been following him for awhile and now that he chose Spurs as his team in England he and I share 5 teams that we support. I imagine he will write a good deal about Spurs, he touts his tivo and satellite a lot so he will certainly be watching. Should be interesting, he isn't the greates football mind but he understands the concept and I am sure he will do well.
