Its great to see the big man being successful. I honestly hope he wins the title because hamburg really impressed me tonight.

I think MJ has definatly change his philosophy on football and it was a delight to watch.:001_smile:

No more long punts toards a big striker. Just beautiful passing that had man city chasing shadows. They dont have the financial clout city have but what they do have is a visionary sporting director who works in harmony in with the manager and gets players who work in a TEAM.

How do you explain a MJ team that plays football with quick one touching passing, non stop running and an enthusiasm in marked contrast to citys so called stars.

I think MJ has learnt from his tactical failings and he has got the team super fit with sexy football to boot.

I could of course be incorrect because I've only watched MJs teams in teh uefa cup but joint top of the bundesliga suggests he HAS learnt and improved as a manager. Shame we backed that french ****

They've sold their very best players this season (VDV, De Jong, Kompany for £35m) and the sporting director has done a triffic job to and bought the required players in.

Just like to add micah richards makes gareth bale look world class. I wouldnt take him on a free transfer. Robinho looks like a player that doesnt give a shit and makes berbatov look like a hard worker. Has he ever performed away from home I mean in this country. Shame hughes doesnt have the balls to drop him.

Without given the game could easily have finished 6-1 maybe even more.

Good luck to Jol. Hope he does well. I can't see what team he would manage if he ever did come back to England. Perhaps an Everton/Portsmouth sort of team.

Same. Harry seems to have a habit of keeping quality players at a club IMO. We'll just see what happens

I don't imagine he's doing anything different now to what he was doing in the Eredevisie. The idea that Jol's philosophy was lumping up the ball to a big man is laughable. In the Prem you work with the tools you have and what is most effective. Maybe you think he would manage Barca and get Iniesta and Xavi to pump the ball up to Eto'o for knock downs to Henry and Messi?

Jol is one of 3 ex-Spurs managers that could qualify for CL next season, the others being Ramos and Gross. Funny that, no?

yeah lets get gross back :001_rolleyes:

didnt work with ramos and I was gutted with that.

Are you trying to tell me you missed the coutless times we launcehed the ball to mido/bers to flick on. It wasnt a few times a match it was a clear tactic.

We played some decent stuff at times at whl but away from home we played some horrendous route one football.

Not really, given that Ramos is managing the biggest club in the entire world (or is it second biggest now?) and he probably won't even be there for their CL campaign next year. Then you have Gross who gets his team into Champions League by virtue of managing in one of Europe's shittes leagues, and alright, I'll give you Jol, though he too manages in a weaker league than the Premiership.
