Newcastle now have a mountain to climb away from home as they could only manage a draw (that they had to really fight for) at home against Lillestrom.
Good is all I can say, apart from best of luck to Uwe's boys in the return leg. I hate Newcastle, I really, really do...

Got it in one bro. The arrogance, delusion and inabilty to see reason that infects both club and supporters really makes me angry. So seeing those over-weight deluded saddoes crying into their Newkie Brown always gives me reason to smile..

have you ever tasted that shit. christ i'll drink most things but that is rank. It's great that owen is costing them an arm and a leg, and they only seem to be able to buy midfielders. Think they're gonna struggle to make top 10 again.

Damn right - Newcastle Brown is an absolute disgrace. I used to quite like it when I was fourteen, thinking it made me look more sophisticated down the Rec than my Diamond White supping peers. The harsh reality of the matter is that it is sickly sweet muppet-brew that should only be consumed by the medically devoid of taste and class. As my Dad always pointed out, any serious beer should be in green or brown bottles to keep it cooler - what's up with the clear bottle? It used to be popular with the student/metal-head crowd, but even they seem to have learned better these days. Although that may have something to do with Carling owning 99% of rock venues these days...
I feel sorry for Owen because it seems obvious that the only reason he went to Geordieland was because they bid artificially high and thus forcing his hand. That's been their transfer strategy for years - if a player isn't interested, bid a stupid ammount that will become the only bid the selling club will accept, regardless of the players wishes.
Bet Carr is really happy up there too...

LOL Gregzy! You don't like 'em at all. That wall was a bit too high up the country! Newcastle should be in Scotland. ;)

I don't even think the Scots would accept them. Those Geordies have strange dietary and hygiene habits, even by Glaswiegan standards. Maybe just a 50 foot wall around the entire vicinity and only two Geordies allowed out at any one time.

NO!!! What on Earth did the Scots do to deserve that terrible fate? They can't stand them any more than we can....
C'mon - the Scots know they have a rubbish leauge and have a laugh with it. How is that going to square with the Tyneside Self-Delusion Policy?
Anyone ever used to read Jocks and Geordies in The Dandy, btw?
