Wonderful news I was tipped off about this a few days ago and it will be smashing to see Messi and co at the lane.
Spurs have a great relationship with Barca and have many connections from down the years with Arcibald, Linekar, Venables ect.

Rangers fans are a load of kunts.I remember when they came to WHL in 1986 for Paul Miller's testimonial. There was serious trouble inside the ground that day because there was a load of Chelsea fans in the Rangers section. There was a very strong National Front affiliation between Chelsea and Rangers. And both wanted to have a pop at 'the Yids'.
But a Spurs v Barcelona game is a mouth watering prospect.Although I dare say that some of our fans will boo Thierry Henry, souring the occasion somewhat.

You would get a lot more trouble from Rangers supporters. Bunch of c*nts. The type with no cause but to react to the other side who had huge and geniune greavances for many years and do so in a way that is often way over the top and a lot worse.
Best just to ignore the anti-English tunes, that's all they are now, tunes, but based on events for which a few songs is an extremely small pay back.

This is great news. I was actually planning to go away with a few mates around Europe for the summer, and go watch some games at the Nou Camp and the San Siro, but i think i'm going to have to cut down on some of those matches, particularly the Barca one, now that this is happening. I've only been to the Lane once, and i've been meaning to go again for some time now, so this is the perfect chance to see some mouthwatering stuff happening there  .

aye whats your problem?
Celtic fans hate English, nothing silly or ignorant about that. I never said anything about trouble, everyone can cause trouble when theyre in the mood, we have done in the past or do you conveniently forget that, Barca fans do too.
I prefer Rangers as ive always liked them and ive never liked Celtic.

Celtic fans don't hate English people. You've just taken hundreds of thousands of fans and put them all in one category and called them all racists. I've been to two Celtic matches in England - at Coventry and Fulham, and there has been no anti-English feeling or trouble at all - there was great banter between the two sets of fans at both games. I can't belive you would want Rangers at WHL, a club who are unfortunately blighted with a larger percentage of thuggish, racist fans than most clubs in world football, and who cause trouble wherever they go, than Celtic, who have fans with a wonderful reputation Europe-wide for being good fun whenever they go anywhere. Just because for some random reason you've always preferred Rangers

Yeh I prefer Rangers, cos I always have preferred them, same as Ive always preferred Man U to Man C and Sheff U to Sheff W.
Now is there a coincidence that Rangers travel with Union Jacks while Celtic travel with the Irish tricolour, yet both are British, hence my original point of hating English, which may have been a bit strong admittedly for all of their fans to be included but it was a generalisation as I can hardly divide them up into exact numbers.

The ones that carry tricolours don't hate England either - I think they carry tricolours because they're Irish, though of course I may be wrong, and it could be a cleverly disguised message of hatred to England. And I wasn't putting words into your mouth - if you think that certain people hate one race of people (e.g English) then don't you think those people are racist?
I have nothing against your preferences of teams, everyone has their likes and dislikes of other teams, but my point is, why would you want the thugs who trashed Manchester at White Hart Lane, when you could have Celtic fans who are, in general, great fun.

celtic fans (green & gold of eire)have a long history of hating england!!
there traditionally catholic & hate england as from centuries back when a certain king billy (william of orange) and his white horse invaded ireland and overan them.
the troubles of northern ireland stem from this
the last time they came down to the lane it all kicked off when they started singing "rebel songs" about joining the IRA... & still seath that the north is british!!!.
as for rangers fans(red white & blue of the monarchy)....(protestants) the other half of the great divide & king billy followers.
(the orange order still march in belfast, remember gazza pretending to play a flute!!)... & about as rascist as they come.. towards all....
you ever get the chance go to an "old firm" game... celtic v rangers....its pure sectarian hatred & makes our north london derby look like a fight in a kids play pen.
you'll often see the paramilitary groups of northern ireland showing there colours ....
through all the years of troubles there was never a bombing in glasgow!!.... why... civil war would have erupted

I'm a Celtic fan btw - I do know about all this stuff... though I do maintain that the vast majority of Celtic fans do not hate Enlgand, and even the ones who do would not cause trouble here - which is the point really, as we're discussing who we would rather have at the Lane. Obviously I would rather have Celtic because I support them as well, but I would want their fans here ahead of Rangers' fans anyway.

What with 80+% of our normal home attendances being season ticket holder, games/tournaments/friendlies like this are a rare opportunity for non members to come to the Lane and bring their kids to what usually is their first ever game. It's great that we are having this 'high profile' tournie at ours... think of all the future little Yids who will get to say 'my first football match was Tottenham Vs Barcelona" :001_smile:

Spot on. I agree with you MJB. I will say one thing though - Northern Ireland is littered with Rangers and Celtic fans who wear the respective shirts as political statements...most couldn't even name you half the squads on each side. There is plenty of these so called fans in Northern Ireland who wear those shirts as an identity.

anyway, I apologise for bringing it all up in the first place. It was needless for me to give that sort of reason, didnt intend for it to cause a few rumbles, its just the truth of what I think, which is what I always post regardless of the possible fallout.
If id have just said I want Rangers cos I like them best, we may still have had the 'riot' type responses, who knows, who cares.

lol...it winds me up when people (not you by the way) make sweeping generalisations. With Celtic and Rangers there is always going to be political conatations with large sections of each support. Personally I think there is plenty of numpties , particularly in Northern Ireland, from both sides. The fact is that kids here are just socialised into it.
But each to their own and all that.
Scottish football doesn't interest me and never will, the only thing I give a shit about is Spurs - no other team to me matters!

Celtic or Rangers will come with thousands of pissed up fans having a few days in London. Trouble wise, with Celtic your more likely going to see a few drunken scuffles with gobby, drunken replica shirt clad, smelly old men. Rangers will have an proper `mob` of lads plotted up in a boozer somewhere in London alongside a few Chelsea, then the police will stop them from moving about or they will get a massive escort up to the ground.
I`m sure a few Aberdeen will be down aswell if its Rangers. Maybe they could share a flight with eachother.

Yea, but Rangers have SO many d*ckheads. And so do a few other clubs, but Rangers really take the biscuit. Cause trouble nearly everywhere they go for no real reason except many of them are a pack of knobs.
Look what they did to Manchester at the Uefa Final last year. Pure disgrace. Trashed the centre of the city and caused huge amount of trouble for no reason.
Celtic fans have a very good reputation in Europe. Ask Villareal, who made a big marquee with food for them this year for them when they arrived as they like them so much from previous meetings.
When Celtic played in the Uefa Cup final it was supposed to have been a brilliant week away in the sun, great parties and no trouble.

I know, I've already said all of that on this thread :001_rolleyes: Except for the bit about Villareal, I didn't know that, but I can certainly believe it would be true.
