* Tottenham have made a £5m bid for Manchester City defender Micah Richards

Is he good for us?

Just read it too... He looked very promising when we met city last season and a lot of the members in the danish fanclub were talking about buying him last season... He's only 18, and played in midfield against us, but does anyone know which position(s) he prefer??

I think he can play at centre back but RB is his position. IMO he would be an excellent signing, great first season, strong, pacy, good in the air. Better than paying 5-7mill for a 27y/o Chimbonda who seems a little mercenary!

He looked very promising - Chelsea were sniffing end of last season. However, I do not think Man City are a selling club and are unlikely to let such a prospect go

Having said that, I think he is from the Midlands, so he has no real emotional connection to the city

oh, and he said '****' on MOTD.....worth a mention, since he got chastised by Garth, never a pleasant experience I'd imagine

He must be good if we're offering £5m....

i think he's a great prospect, i figure as a centre back for the future. Didn't know he can play right back, i'll check with my citeh bud. I seem to remember chelsea offering 8-10m for him last year. I think he'd command that already. Would really like to see him at the lane, with daws him and king as back three, would be awesome. Spend that carrick money!!

micah richards is a fantastic prospect, he's so strong and only 17/18. he can play pretty much anywhere but im not sure how much better he is tha tom huddlestone

Shitty has said they're not selling.

They said that about SWP too... From the little I have seen, Richards would be a great buy on three fronts. Firstly, it would continue our policy of buying the future England squad; secondly it would give us some quality in the right-back position and thirdly it might eradicate some of the ongoing shame of paying well over the odds for defenders called Richards...

good point gregzy lol, hoddle should be shot for that. I think hudds will only be last cover at full back, we need his passing in midfield where he'll be one of the best. Richards has much more pace than him and is very much in the ledley mould. I've only seen him play centre back and midfield for citeh.

right back is his best position in my opinion. looked very good the few times i seen him last year. Very good signing for us.

He is a good prospect. Young, strong and quick, bit of a temper but that at least implies some passion.

He is great prospect, strong in the tackle, excellent in the air, seen him play at R.B,C.M and C.H. and he was good at all three, don't know if City would sell but if we could get him he could turn out to be a great player.

Like him... like him alogh. On first glance looks like a future class act. I'd sign him for five million. Any more is probably too much for an 18 year old defender. Because most of the cash is for potential.

From what I've seen by the way he is definetely a defender... in the style of a Thuram. He's not that good obviously, at least not yet, but you know what I mean. Nothing like Huddlestone who is like Rio at the back or a passing anchorman in midfield,

well said mate
any one who says
"manure would be my ideal move but they have G neville so it wont be possible "
and gives his shirt to the manager that gave him a crack in the big time .as a transfer reqest

we shouldn't look twice at .

back to the point richards would be grate long term .

i'd rather we spent 8-10m on him than 6m on davies. i don't thinkn he's any better than gardner or davo. the richards kid is gonna be the new ledley so we should steal him.
