The team has improved dramatically since we have stuck jj and palacios in cm. The reason wy I like them in cm is so we can get lennon and especially mod further up the pitch. JJ performed well last sunday in the final, played well against boro but people don't call a spade a spade. JJ has been poor not denying that but when he plays well no one gives him credit. Like people saying all jj does is pass it side ways did you guys see the cross field pass he made to lennon for his goal against boro? He does pass it simple at times but people make to much of a big deal out of it.
I'm just glad we can free modric up on the left which he has reponded by playing well.

Turkish mate, no matter what you tell these guys, they just hate JJ as a person and they don't judge him as a player. As long as the past and present managers acknowledge his skills, that just shows how wrong these anti JJ crtics are.:001_smile:

I dislike his lack of character on the pitch. My main issue with him is not lack of work rate but lack of courage to take responsibility and put himself out there, make interceptions, make proper tackles, win the ball and get on the ball and really take responsibility for his end of the build up play. I feel he passes the buck so I would question his mental strength and character on the pitch.
Having this man as a captain was a disaster imo.
He has the ability to be a proper player.
I probably said 'I hate him' before but that was just in the heat of the moment. I get awful frustrated with him. I don't hate him as a person, just often as a player and I wish they'd get rid of him.

What does it matter? It doesn't interfere with my judgement on him as a player. I just don't rate him.
I probably said he was arrogant when he was swanning about, not working hard enough and saying he 'was playing great'. I mean that's bound to get a reaction.
People say things, for their reasons and will change their opinion when they see different things or if the player changes a bit or a lot. Why are we nitpicking? We all say things that then get outdated. Isn't this stuff obvious? As you said to Peter about Jol, it's not all black and white.
He is genuinely working his socks off, I commend him for that and it shows better than in the past in many games, but I still think he's hiding. That's my opinion and I don't rate him and I think we need a proper player instead to progress the team in that area.

as i have said before jenas from a young age has had the ability to become a top player, but where as other players have improved he has not, teams have a player they can look at, to take the game by the scruff of the neck and change it, maybe getting 3 points instead of 1.
i think alot of peoples gripe with him is that he is not consistent enough and has 1 good match in 10 where his ability should make it 8 in 10,
perhaps he needs a new club to revitalise him as a player, a new challenge, there must be a mental block there like someone else said which is not letting him progress,

He was great against man utd and boro but he got slagged off, I'm not bothered if you don't rate him or anyone else but it comes across that you have a personal vendetta against him.
People slag him off for giving the ball away to many times (even when the stats have prove he hardly does) than people slag him off that he just passes sideways......which he does but wo doesn't?
The lad just hasn't done it and I agree with everyone but lets be honest when the lad has a good game.

Jenas has one good game out of 4. Then he gives the ball away and becomes the most laziest c*nt I've seen kick a football for another 4 or 5 games. he is f*cking useless. I can remember screaming at him a few times in the past

Well when you rate someone and many don't you always say, 'it seems there is a vendetta'.
It's not a vendetta, its just that people don't agree with you mate!
How do you like it when many say you have a vendetta against the Hudd? How many times does it have to be pointed out that people change their view on a player when THEY think they are doing better or will praise a game where they geniunely think they did well.
You praise the Hudd when you think he's done well, right?
There are a few games in the last few years when Jenas actually played like a real player imo and I said it.
I've a totally different assessment on Dawson this year to last, as he is performing imo.
And I praise Zok contribution in many games under Harry, even though I still think he's not got enough brains or ability. But at least he shows courage to try to take responsibility for doing the business.
I gave nothing but abuse pre-Harold.

Choda, I don't know how many years you have been supporting Spurs, however, I can remember from quite a while back, that pratically every season, without fail, there always seemed to be a scapegoat in the team, whether that specific player played welll or not he got slated for nothing and it seems that dreaded habit has continued till this very day. It is a shame that this happens because I am sure that this can cause the player either to move on or get more demotivated in the team. Sometimes fan/supporters seem to cause more damage than support.

My point is you hardly ever do admit the player had a good game when many consider he did, the mojority said JJ had a great game against boro but you said he didn't. When have I always said its a vendetta? You clearly have a hard time admitting that zok, bae and jj have good games. Thats the way it comes across to me and maybe others.
People don't agree with me? I go on two other spurs sites and trust me when I say 90% agreed with me. Clearly its a vendetta when people say " he gave the ball away so many times" than the stats prove he only gave it away twice, so they make another excuse to slate him by saying "he only passes the ball sideways of course he aint gonna give the ball away."
I always admitt when a player plays well, especially Hudd but it only becomes a vendetta when you can't admitt to what your seeing. People say JJ is shit which I ave no problem against but when he plays well like certain others people don't like to say it (I'm not saying that everytime I think JJ has a good game that people must agree, but consistently he never gets credit where credit is due).
He missed a pen in a shootout and he was ripped to shreds on here, JOH does the same (who I don't rate that highly) but I don't slag him off. It was a similar pen but JJ is a target that people will just love to slate.
Who has said I have a vendetta against Hudd? Its one thing saying you don't rate a player but its another not admitting he played well. I don't rate him but like JJ he hasn't delievered, but I have no problem with admitted when he has a good game.
Dawson has consistently performed well JJ hasn't but when he plays well no one wants to say well done for once.
Look it all about opinions but I've seen first hand nearly two sites fully agree when certain players play well and than see the same old people slating them.
I think people will agree I'm one of the fairest posters on here of course I go overboard on certain players like you and others do to JJ but I have no problem turning round saying "You know for once he had a good game, I hope he continues to improve." If JJ doesn't have an outstanding game he won't get the plaudets from you and thats the way I see things from many on here.
I say it how I see it I'm not gonna bullshine you or sugar coat things, I'm not expecting you to agree with me, or I'm right but its just my opinion and from what I have seen on the forum.

Well I'm telling it's not a vendetta. If I DID think he had a good game then I'd say it. I have done that on many occassions and I don't think you are being fair.
I don't know how many times I have to say I think Ekotto has been excellent recently. First I thought, yes he is improving but still prone to an error, but last few games he's looked superb to me and said as much.
You're out of order actually. And I'm not angry when I'm saying that I'm just saying.
I mean come on, its all opinions. I still think JJ is hiding, my opinion and it's not a vendetta. Don't you think nothing would make me happier than to see him take responsiblity and play like Gerrard or even Jimmy Bullard?
Don't tell me he can't be as good as Bullard because he can be better with the courage to do his job properly.
Maybe a decent game from JJ as opposed to an average one doesn't get much more than a shrug, but what do you expect? People want a real performance and they want it to the be the usual, not 1 in 10, and this year it's been like 1 in 20.
If people think a guy is hiding and not showing courage and he takes a tame penalty then he will get abuse, it's natural. A die on the pitch for the cause player who takes responsibility all the time will not get the same level of abuse. It's natural.
If Hudd misses a tackle badly and it leads to a goal, he will get dogs abuse, you top of the que. If King/Dawson/Woody does that people would say, 'ah well plenty in the bank, we'll let that one go as it is probably just a blip, he's only human'. It's natural.

We've had this discussion pal. This is a FORUM. I'm not saying it to his face. At the ground or in the dugout I'd offer some constructive criticism, like 'make a f*cking tackle JJ!', 'get on the f*cking ball JJ, you've got the ability, take responsibility'.
Grow up, seriously. This isn't kindergarden. Molly collying the situation will lead to more lazy spurs performances. Do you want to see that? Be constructive, be positive, but also be real and honest or you will get nowhere.
People are entitled to voice their opinions on a fricking forum. If you don't like it then don't respond or lump off.
There's no scapegoating going on either. People watch the game and they give their ratings. Most agree that Bent, Pav, Jenas, Zokora have a lot missing to their game and ain't good enough. That's not one player, but some of you seem to think JJ is a player playing well most of the time and then get your knickers in a twist.
I don't mind you rating him but the rest of it is utter nonsense.

JJ is far from being the best midfielder we have in our team Palacios - Ohara(who i know you dont rate) and Parrott have all played better and shown more potential - are all better atm.
I think you will find it has nothing to with disliking him - JJ is an average player at best (this is due to his own lack of self belief) - there isnt a person on this forum who wouldnt want JJ to realise his potential and start playing like it.
Ah yes..... the more mature forumers post...... what a load of tripe. Most people agree JJ is average - so the more mature forumers would NOT agree with that statement.

O'hara will try his best and will always be a squad player, unfortunately, he is not what one woud call a bright player. Palacios has been quite average these last two games. Parret was below par in his last outing against the scum youths, surprised you did not mention Ryan Mason, who impressed us all last Thursday night.

As I have mentioned to you once before, as long as the present and past managers acknowledge JJ's skills, that is what really counts. For some to say and agree that JJ was average against M'Boro and Manure, how can you say that is a fair judgement on the player?.

1) the rest of the midfield is sit
2) he actually is good and makes a difference

Makes one think mate, if he ain't any good but we look worse without him and better when he plays, surely that must be proving that maybe quite a few underestimate his contribution towards the midfield and team.

Rojo, Modric has blown hot and cold on quite a few occasons, whilst Lennon I did not include cos he does not play in a central midfield role as JJ does. Palacios has also been average these last two gams, might be a sign of fatigue.

I am of the opinion, like you, that Jenas is a good player. But he's simply not comparable to Modric. Modric is on a different planet to even Keane and Defoe, let alone Jenas.

Parrett and JOH haven't played better than JJ imo, but JOH doesn't hide but I much rather jj in my midfield than them two. JJ played well against man utd and boro plus we are in a good run of form since we have palacios and jj as a pairing.
Lennon has been our best midfielder followed by zok (has improved drastically).

Wayners I don't often totally disagree with you but it has been listed with results and performances so many times how with JJ and without JJ hasn't made diddly squat difference when you replaced it with Zok/Hudd. They are all not good enough.
PAL has made a big difference, despite an average game against sunderland.
If we are afraid to play Modric in a two with Palacious and the way he is performing being the playmaker from the left then clearly JoH is the choice with Palacious.
He's only had several games in the centre and most of them were good, some were even excellent. In the game against Donesk, himself and Palacious were very strong as a pair, making tackles and taking responsibility for their end of the build up and playing good balls.
JoH is only doing a job on the left, he's not a wide man at all.

agree but I'm kind of hoping to see our 4 midgets playing proper football with the big fat centre halves thinking what the **** are these little midgets doing.
No more long balls lets play some sexy football with defoe, keane mod and lennon bamboozling defences. :001_smile:
We arent really suited to the long ball game and its shit to watch so I'm hopeful a preseason will get the team more prepared to play some triffic stuff.

He is at times alright, he could frustrate. He was said to be a right lazy tw*t in the championship but mega ability when he tried. Then bigger club in the prem and he performs a lot better. Maybe at spurs with the expectation and that he will move up another gear. He has it in his locker.
Safer bet is Doyle, guaranteed to be utterly brilliant with work rate, for the team, great general play, scores goals. Jones is capable of being an unreal player though. But Doyle is a top player guaranteed and pretty much what we need.
Cavenghi in France is a class act. It's risky too though, poor league, foreigner adapting and so on.
I don't like risks given all the ones that gone wrong for us lately.

personally I'd like to go with 4 midgets playing proper football. Imagine if keane and defoe form a triffic understading with lennon and mod linking beutifully with keane:drool:
Just watch this

negredo is unreal in the air and is also very good on the ground he's more suited to the prem than la liga. :001_smile:
Scored 13 league goals last year and has got 15 so far this season.
I would like harry to sign:
1. negredo - £10.6m release clause
2. viduka - free as back up to negredo
3. zhirkov for £15-20m although harry will almost certainly try to get downing again for £15m:sad:
sell bent, hudd, rocha, gilberto, zokora
I'd sell pav if we get offer over £10m

Is Viduka available in the summer? Oh, we have to get him mate, he's top class. He's always injured but he's so talented, be great to have him in the squad.
This Negredo sounds good, nice to see we seemingly will have plenty of options.
I like Jerkoff, pure class. Downing is a big lad though and a good footballer and having more power, him and a big striker does appeal to me with having Mod, Keane and Lennon.

a big man little man combo isnt a must if you believe in your ability to play football can undo a physically more powerful team.
I grant you away from home it might be difficult but if it aint working stick the big man up there and let him hold it up.
Harry will probably start every away game like this:
keane big man (viduka, negredo or a hard working jones not the lasy one:001_smile: )
downing mod palacios lennon
it all depends on the defoe keane partnership will their deadly striking abaility outweigh the loss of height in the team/ up front.
At home we can play the sexy stuff when we play at our best harry needs to make it happen away from home then a big man can then just be a substitute.

Sorry mate i didnt make it clear im not including wilson and modric in this i'll get onto modric in a sec! I mean of hudds, o'hara, zokora and as much as i dislike the scrote we do play better with jenis the penis im not one for stats as they bore me to death.
Wilson is a cracking player but gives the ball away far too much and i really think we need a carrick type in there with him whilst he does the harrasing and tackling part, closing down etc.
As for modric i dont think he's the saviour of all that is tottenham hotspur he's a good footballer but isnt that next level type player imo like a gerrard or fabregas etc. Away from home he's not turned up once but s'pose in his defence nor has the team but he's not someone i'd start in away matches

Yea, good one Pete, we've all met him and think he's a dick so we will never acknowledge how good he is. :001_rolleyes:
Or maybe we haven't met him and it wouldn't matter if we did and didn't like him as we are talking about the PLAYER.
Most people don't rate him and have their reasons.
I've heard he is a very nice man actually.
JJ is an articulate, polite, reponsible guy. You never see him "givin' it large" around hear, doesn't peg it round the roads, blasting crap music that no one wants to hear. So yeah he is a nice guy.
However, I don't like him as a player because he is a real waste of serious talent. No one thinks he is the worst player ever, we get annoyed cos we know what he can and has done and we see what he usually produces.

I didn't say it was a must, as you know I'd be one of the more open minded to the ideas close to total football, but I'd be less nervous shall we say if we had an outball and a bit of physical presence in a very physical league.
City's template is far too inconsistent for me and I'd be worried we could get into that mold, especially since we are already like that!
Away from home we seem to struggle in midfield and to get it into Keane's feet. It'd be nice to have a guy that makes something from any ball, full backs hitting the channels and such, hitting it into space for a physical tussle or hitting a big frame.
And Downing is a safe bet for the left. Not the most exciting signing but he's a good player with potential to be better and he's a worker with physical presence, which would be beneficial to have more of.
Now I am NOT advocating long ball here, just the similar reasons ManU wanted Berba for their partnerships and play Park over Nani.

good post I'm almost an extreme believer in total football. It might sound strange but its the way I play it and its what I like to watch.
If we have a team that gets results and plays good football I;m happy. However the man that gets us playing sexy stuff and winning will be a GOD to me.

Oh yea, I'm the same, that's why I love football above any other sport, because it has the capability to be extremely beautiful.
Just for my comments I don't see why we can't play amazing with the team I outlined. I think you need power too so you can also dominate and defend set pieces. I want the safest bet for spurs so we can get up there first anyway.
Sport is also about entertainment. Snooker for example went through huge popularity due to Higgins and White. Now it is dying on its feet as it has no entertainers and talents who want to thrill the crowd and win at the same time.
Ronnie is a genius but he's not an entertainer really, just a genius, a pure natural that plays really fast.
You pay to watch something special and to be thrilled by magic.
I will adore any quality player that is also an entertainer, that's why I am spurs.
