I just stumbled on this web-page.........
http://www.mehstg.com/transfers.htm
I completely obliterated from my money that we paid 5 mil for Thatcher!
Lets not even mention Postiga and 4.5 for Armstrong ELEVEN years ago, that's like 12 mil now these days!
But my favourite has to be in August 1993 we paid 1.9 mil for Dozell, 11 months later we bought Klinsman for a 100 grand more!
A gread read, but woefully depressing when you see Rebrov at the top.

yeah i would like to see rebrov off the top. im of the school of thought that we should have gone just over £11million for berbie just to knock him of our top spot

But if we did that and Berbie was a flop, Levy would have that on his tombstone. He's a clever boy our Levy.

very true but still, he must settle in better than rebrov

I STILL think that Ruel Fox was the worst signing in football history. Even the Joey Beauchamp saga of the 90's was better value than Fox.

Without doubt, I have complete faith in him. The whole Rebrov incident was a real killer. The guy was just so good....... but then his partner Shevchenko left him and like so many broken relationships one person flowers while the other falters.

The worst was a certain David Jenkins from Arsenal. He was useless and he came as a swap for Jimmy Robertson who scored our 1st goal in the 67 FA Cup Final against Chelsea.

Ahhhhh..... Ruel Fox, he was truely dire. Out of those top money signings Postiga gets my vote.

LOL, the more you look at the page it just get's worse and worse. I wish I never found the damn thing.
Repeat this 5 times........
Dean Richards is our clubs 3rd highest ever signing.
I guarentee you will think you are going mad like Sol 'I wont walk out of match for less than 80 grand a week' Campbell.

it has to be rebrov, even though i liked and still do like him. he cost the most and left for nothing. richards was expensive but did a good job for us, postiga was shit but we recouped most of the money

Another piece of luck about Postiga is he never made it with us. Otherwise, we'd be riled for having a diver in our midst.

Richards has to of had our most memorable debut in history (if not for all the right reasons).

Rebrov was a class player but we never played to his strengths, all them long balls played up to him and he was supposed to fight for them with guys a lot bigger and harder then him, when he was able to get the ball played to his feet he scored some great goals ( w.ham, City ). Fox, Dozzell, Sinton among many who were worse buys did nothing.
