View Full Version : This Tottenham team are the worst I've seen
Spur
4th March 2009, 12:45 PM
The football we play is terrible, atrocious even. We can't score at home for love nor money. Can't beat ten men. Can't even outplay ten men.
We're a smash and grab team. Only thing with us is we can't smash anything and don't grab anything.
I see better attacking from worse teams. The way we're set out is devoid of any intellect. No confidence from the players moves over to the fans. The games I've been to this year the fans have only ever been apprehensive.
Big changes aren't welcome but are they necessary? Big changes doesn't mean to say lots of changes, but big changes. Big players need to come in, and that doesn't mean big reputations or big transfer fees. Let's face it, we can't pull big reps or big fee's out the bag anyway, they all fail miserably.
Sunday was one of the few times this year the players showed anything. They have been embarrassing all season.

I agree with Spur. We are appauling, We struggle on the pitch all the time, its almost as if when the game starts we try and hang on. We are bad on the counter attack I noticed this season too. Not to mention taking set pieces as well as handling them against us. Lets not kid ourselves

Whats the point in saying that after we've come off such a good performance, we can't get those bad performances back and improve the, the point is we stopped Man U from scoring for 2 hours...surely we can transfer that into the league and beat teams. We proved we can do it. The Ramos effect has lingered over the club long after his departure, now its beginning to fade.

Blaming ramos again?!
yep it was a ****ing disgrace at the start but after getting 16 points from 8 games why have we turned to shit again.
Ramos has just had the best start for a real madrid manager in their entire history. 10 wins 1 defeat.
So he is a **** in tottenham and a god in madrid. Some balance is needed here and it would seem the pleayers are more to blame.
Before Ramos MJ got the sack after obtaining 7 points from 11 and he finished 5th the previuos2 seasons. Now second in the bundesliga would suggest he is hardly the worst manager in the world.
Imagine if Ramos and Jol both win the league bet everyone will still be going on like a broken record player. That Ramos is shit  :001_rolleyes:

Bloody hell. Does Turkish need to pull out Harry's points per game average again? We're not shit! We're not great either, but, as I say, with Harry's points per game we would be 7th, 3 points behind Everton, and going into today's game full of optimism. I wish people would stop going on about how bad we are and face the facts. We're not that bad. Our away form is dreadful, yes. Set pieces, also dreadful. But I know that I have more hope for:
Gomes
Corluka
Dawson
Woodgate
Assou-Ekotto
Lennon
Modric
Palacios
Bale
Keane
Defoe
than I would if we still had the likes of:
Keller
Carr
Doherty
Gardner
Tarricco
Ricketts
Jackson (:scared: )
Freund
Etherington
Ferdinand (in fairness, he was ok, but no Defoe or Keane)
Iversen
Patience people. People moan at our chairman because we see Everton and Villa having patience, but then we moan rather than looking at the progress we have made. And yes, we have taken steps backwards. But we're going forwards again now, so, frustrating though it is, we have to be patient again. That's sort of the whole point of patience. You've got to wait.

The problem with quite a few of our supporters/fans is that we tend to expect too much, too soon. One must not forget that Ramos and Co had a wholesale clearout seven months ago, we also have had a change in management. Does one not think that all these changes have not affected the team's confidence?. I do. Arry has been through one transfer window, and that being the most difficult one to bring in decent players at decent prices. I personally think that he did well considering the lack of players available. Some might argue that we should have gone for the likes of Arshavin, reports on sky sports website, stating that he is finding it quite tough in the premiership, were we in a position to take that risk?. I don't think so. We all expected to do well this season and we never expected to be fighting the drop. I am confident that Arry will bring another two to three players next season and I'm confident that we will challenge for the top six. COYS.

JS, remember Rome was not built in one day. We won't be top four material for at least two more season, depending if we stick to the same management and also depends if and when the club is owned by new owners.

It's not fair comment or accurate to say that. The squad is mish mash but can play some great stuff at times. Harry's made this a top seven side and that's essentially before some big additions and we expect three big ones in the summer. Big as in good and desperately required, as opposed to necessarily buying a big name.
It is shaping up but it takes time.
I saw us lose at the lane to united back in 1997 or so. Now that was a shit side for a club like Tottenham, Vega, Edinborough etc. and had an average coach. I count my blessings we at least have a smattering of geniune talent and if it is supplemented, managed properly it can even become a top side.
We have a very good manager that knows the English game. The extent of that doom and gloom is unnecessary and not accurate. The foundations are there and the money. 1997 was bleak and required a very ambitious and knowledgeable chairman to build over 5-10 so we'd even have a chance of putting this great club back where it should be.
Now, we do have that chance, things have gone pear shaped due to bad manager decisions and such but the raw materials are still there. The manager just has to sort out the imbalances in the squad, weak areas, groom a winning mentality and setup and put it all together. He is proven and knows english football and seems to be doing exactly what is needed and planning to do the rest when he can.
I'm optimistic.
By the way it is hard to attack when you play Zokora and Jenas who can't play quality build up consistently and be creative even in an understated way.
And you can't expect to be great when your strikers are horrible in general play. But yet you don't see why Keane is better than Defoe. Palacious and Keane or esque signings were some of the crucial elements we needed and he's done that bit. Harry knows what he is at and more are to come.

Spur I totally agree, watching us play this season (albiet on the PC and TV) has been ****ing dire beyond belief.
I really dont give a flying **** in many of the games cos we're so nondescript.
Even Sunday i didnt give a shit whether we won or lost the penalty shoot out, the fact we just gave up on two cup competitions (especially europe) really ****ed me off, for whateve reasons we done it, the fact is those reasons were all self induced, shit league position, poor fitness even though the players were rested they still got cramp and were walking wounded at the end, happily taking the TV money then moaning that we have a Monday night game, not rewarding some who had an efect on Thursdays game with even a place on the bench meaning we had little creativity to bring on.
Who gives a **** that Harrys points average would see us 8th , we aint 8th so it dont mean a thing.
It isnt Harry so much, its the whole ****ing club.
I find it impossible to get excited over a game when winning may mean we climb to 16th or something, whoppee, whilst obviously i dont want us to go down so the three points are important, its nowhere near as exciting as challenging for Europe spot.
We had enough dross over the last 20+ years , especially league wise, the last two league seasons have also been dull boring dross and im totally ****ed off with it.

Well to be honest I've had enough of people slating Harry it's the same old when we had Jol and now most who wrote Jol off are saying "why did we get rid of him"!!!
I think at long last you can see a promising team - our midfield is looking much better and we have a serious threat with Modric Lennon and Keane.

I was in tears after the lasagne incident and the vile c*nts getting fourth spot.
ffs, If we just be West Ham that f*cking day, then by now we would of been able to attract more world class players to the club... We would be up there with Chelsea and Liverpool. Just that 90 minutes we could of won in the 2005/06 season
I swear David Dein swapped the mozzarella for 2 year out of date pecorino. The ****! :cursing:

The worst spurs side i ever saw was one that played at Portman Road against a very average ipswich side, i cant remember the exact side although i remember Willem Korsten put in one of the owrst displays ive ever witnessed!! Made Dozzell look like Maradona!! I think we lost 0-3.
