dude you checked our run in?
After Boro and Sunderland theres only WBA on the easy list , and we couldnt beat them earlier.
We still have to play Man u, Chelsea,Liverpool,A Villa, Everton , theres no easy 3 pointers left for us

Newcastle are w*nkers :001_smile:
The point is MJB, our run-in matters less if there are teams around us with harder ones. We don't have to be good at this point, we only have to be better than the bottom 3, which is shit. We will probably beat Boro and WBA, so that's 6 points right there. What's more, we do well against Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool, certainly better than the teams around us. With 11 games left, most of our rivals will have at least 3 or 4 of the 6 you mentioned.

March
04 Wed Home Middlesbrough 3 points
07 Sat Away Sunderland 3 points
15 Sun Away Aston Villa 0 points
21 Sat Home Chelsea 1 point
April 2009
04 Sat Away Blackburn 1 point
11 Sat Home West Ham 3 points
18 Sat Home Newcastle Utd 3 points

May 2009
02 Sat Home West Brom 3 points
09 Sat Away Everton 1 point
16 Sat Home Man City 3 points
24 Sun Away Liverpool 1 point
Total 22 points - This would give us 50 so should be safe with that. Obviously the above is a little generous in some areas but the 50 does give us some leeway for the last minute **** ups which we have been getting used to of late. Thoughts?

I would have to say 0 points from Sunderland, Blackburn (possibly 1 there I suppose, but probably not) and Everton, and just the 1 point off West Ham. They're a much better team this year, though, like Blackburn, it's difficult to say, but I reckon 1 point. So that would be 43 points. Which would be bloody hairy :scared:

what are your thoughts on the games left then? like i said, a few are pretty generous but all still possible imo
Boro - we have got to be looking to beat these at home
S'Land - fair enough, may be a tad optimistic
Villa - nothing doing here, draw at best
Chels - not a bad recent history against these, more than capable of a point
B'Burn - point away is not too optimistic
Spammers - Ok, this might be a bit much to ask, point maybe
Barrcodes - We have to be winning this one
United - Enough said
West brom - At home......
Everton - always close games, should come away with a draw
Man city - ok, maybe a bit optimistic
Liverpool - as above

Its not even a case of what WE do; but what the other teams around us do.
We are in a slightly more comfortable position now, where we dont necessarily have to look behind us with sheer terror as much as in previous weeks.
IF and I do mean IF we beat Boro, we have a serious chance of getting away from all this crap.
btw, MJB do you EVER have any optimism? Or is it just doom and gloom? Wheres the belief?

o hey we could win all 12 if we play like we could play, but i reckon theres only 8 points there on our normal league from tho it depends too on the oppositions cup games around our league games (especially CL)

agree CY, but the post wasnt saying we were gonna go down, and neither am I saying that, but i dont think we're gonna get 20 points either.
The optimism has long gone since the board made it clear they want us to struggle by doing some pretty dumb things in the last three seasons with very little forethought as to the outcome.
So now we have the situation where many are 'glad' we dont have European football next season which, having worked so hard to achieve it twice thru the league and once thru a cup, kind of sums it all up really as to how shit things really have become at Spurs.

You obviously don't know our "normal league form" very well if you think we will only get 8 points from all those games. I think it was Turkish who recently pointed out that if we'd had our average points per game under Harry all season, we would be 7th. So where you get 8 points from I don't know. 15 is closer to the mark.

Plus we have conceded late goals and should have picked up three points against arsenal and pompey. Plus the late goals that stopped us from getting a point against newcastle and wigan.
Very unlucky imo from Harrys reign.

I get the feeling Ashley wants them to go down in revenge for the way he's been treated. Fancy employing a nutter with a chronic heart problem to manage the side and then after his inevitable hospitalization, leave the club in the hands of two SPURS men who couldn't give a rats toss about the Toon. Hope they go down, but my gut tells me they'll sleazily acquire enough points to survive a la Fulham last year.

That was tw*tish since it wasn't true, no need to say it. But he didn't mean it, he was trying to get rid of the cockney mafioso coming in thing. And along with results they quickly took to him. If I moved to stoke city I'd probably come out with something daft like best supporters in the world much better than whl just to get the fans on my side.

Why would you say that pal? There was no need for it at all, if he wants to endear himself to the newcastle fans than he can do it without mentioning spurs. I would never slag of spurs so I can get the fans that I manage to like me or to help keep my job.
It was disrespectful Bill Nicholson would never say that, Hoddle would never say that, would Jol or anyone else who truly loved the club? He went out his way to make that silly remark if you truly love spurs then that would never even cross your mind.
Any man with real honour, respect and dignity would never prostitute themselves like that so they can keep a job or get the fans to love them.
Sorry I don't agree JS pal, nothing against you but I'm brought up not to respect people like that, even if its "just football".
