how the ruddy hell are nigeria 11th & cameron 12th. they're decent teams but they shouldnt be that high if they didnt even qualify for the WC or do particularly well in the African Cup of Nations.

I think they're great! Portugal reach the semi-finals of the World Cup and DROP from 7th to 8th place! Cameroon and Uruguay don't even qualify for the World Cup finals and they go up to 12th and 14th respectively!
But best of all, Japan (where I'm currently teaching) dropped... wait for it... 31 places! And they got to the finals, drew with Germany in a friendly before it started and managed a draw with Croatia (OK, they lost to Oz and Brazil).
Still, at least USA and Mexico aren't the 4th and 5th best teams in the world anymore... phew, I was worried there!

The rankings are a pathetic load of shit that bear no relevance to football. In any way.

I think FIFA get a load of monkeys on typewriters to sort out them world rankings!
Surely the team who win the WORLD CUP, should automatically go to no. 1?

Have any of you guys heard of the "Unofficial Football World Champions" (http://www.ufwc.co.uk/), it's an interesting concept I came across a couple of weeks ago. It's based on the boxing approach, that whoever beats the current UFWC then take on the title themselves.

on the surface that could be worse. im probably wrong as i didnt read it all properly i just looked at the table on the right where Scotland are 1st. Scotland the best in the world - what a horrible thought
England's No.1

Yeah, Scotland hold the longest time held as UFWC, but only because it started with the first internation match which was England vs. Scotland, and since they only ever played each other, it bounced between the two of them for a while. The current UFWC are actually Uruguay?!?
