take your pick from milan, valencia, zenit to knock us out. We need a very good draw to stand a chance.

Well seeing as Milan and Valencia aren't Champions League drop outs, therefore not amongst the teams we can get, I'll take Zenit :001_smile:

I was talking about later in the competition we could potentially face them in the last 16 onwards.

Who is it we can get?

I can remember:
Bordeaux (not bad I suppose, but not great)
Aalborg (yes please)
Zenit (we could take them)
Dinamo Kyev (meh)
Marseille (not too tricky, but definitely a test)

You might laugh but I recon we could take AC. Pompey did a number on them and came so close to beating them.

Zenit are the team I really dont want. They love to play at an alarming pace and quite frankly if we struggle against Spartak (finished 8th in Russian league) how in gods name are we going to overcome them?

Bordeux would be the team that will knock us out; dont ask me why its just a feeling. Anyone got a complete list of the teams that we could face? If i recall its the teams that got knocked out from Champs League?

The only team I would put first is Fiorentina. But the rest looks pretty much about right in order of toughness.

Shakhtar are a good team. I'm not at al convinced of our passage. The only good draw there would have been Aalborg.

But their players were dirty, violent, cheating scum. And we're still in the uefa cup. So they're definitely the w ankers :001_smile:

LOL that game was ages ago! they were 0-2 up inside 7 minutes so its not like we would stand a chance of winning the tie.

I wonder how you would feel if harry became our most succesful manager (I know almost impossible) and then got taken away by a "dizzying" offer from real madrid.

I take it you would see real madrid as the ******s:001_rolleyes:

I actually have MASSIVE respect for seville they are an exceptionally well run club.

On a budget less than 20% of real madrids they are on a similar level. If Levy managed to run us as well we would be challenging for the title every year we are easily twice as rich as seville fc.

I don't judge a club by the suits, if I hate or like the players and the manager then I hate/like the club :tongue_smilie:

And it was two years but it was our big shot at the uefa cup. We really could have won it if it wasn't for those cheating c*nts and that tw*t of a ref in the first leg, who couldn't see that Robinson got the ball despite the fact that it was sitting still in front of his hands.

seville in ramos' final season in charge played the best football in la liga, they were a sensational team and they had a great chance of winning every competition they were in.

In the first half at whl they tore us apart with their football, the incisive quick football left us chasing shadows and that is the simple reality. You can try and gloss over it by attempting to explain it by talking about their "cheating" but on a footballing level they were on a different level to us when we played as whl.

The better team won on the day and it isnt certain we would have won teh uefa cup anyway.

I like seville fc and you dont seem to and thats fine I dont have a problem with that :001_smile:

you really do seem to "hate" seville fc

I really do. I'm not very fond of most Spanish teams but Sevilla are the worst of the lot. :cursing:

Though I can understand why people would like them on a footballing level, they were good. I'm just happy that they're failing now :001_smile:

Anyone else a bit worried about how (un)seriously Redknapp is taking the UEFA cups?
A bit worried that he's too much of a realist...? I mean this is spurs, we think we can win everything, but I'd at least like managers to share that optimism.

Seville were unlucky TBH, Man Citeh won thier group with 7 points and Seville are only the 2nd team in the competition ever to go out on 6 points (Rangers were the 1st), three teams even qualified with 5 points.

I'd like our manager to keep us in the Premiership tbh.
