Haven't seen the boy yet, but I am sure 'the next Wayne Rooney' tag will be applied to every burly, jug-eared tank with speed and touch to emerge in the next few years.
I saw Rooney at 15 at the Lane in the semi final 2nd leg of the U-18 Fa Cup, us v Everton. He absolutely decimated anyone who got in his way, and was clearly going to be huge.
Here's hoping Dixon will be too.

yer recall that also, didn't we put in a 10m bid for him then. Also heard the rooney tag applied to pekhart, bit unfair really.

From what I here he's a extremely good prospect....not really surprised their keepng him quite because of the new transfer ruling he's still at the age where he can be signed by another club... for free. Like Cesc leaving Barca a few seasons ago...

Hope he's better than Lee Dixon.

this 'next rooney' tag is thrown about everywhere, it was branded upon James Milner and he was at Aston Villa last season:rolleyes: . it was also aplied to James Vaughan who scored 1 goal for everton and has done bugger all since then. obviously Dixon must be a good player as he's already been called up to the full R.O.I squad but next Rooney, we'll wait and see.

sounds promising, but let's wait and see how he's developing over the next few years...
