I see no reason why not. Our long failure is now mainly psychological. They are not invincible, and were hardly impressive last year for long stretches. Had it not been for Mido gettig sent off, I think we would have done them at the Lane.

Last season we went close very close.... only a Gallas wonder goal seperated us and JJ missed a sitter...
Yeah won't mention dodgy ref and Mido's sending off... cause like LEEBOYSPUR said we had a very good chance of beating em
So yeah I can't see why not...

But now they have Ballack and Shevchenko...

So the **** what? Are we buying into reputations here? Should we bother turning up then, since it is a foregone conclusion?
Quite frankly, we have Berbatov and Zokora. If you are scared of Chelsea and their roubles, shall we write to the FA and donate them 6 points and concede the games?

I fancy us beating them this season, we run them close 2 times last year. been talking to some Chelski fans who i do business with and Jose moaniho thinks we could get CL and upset the top four @ Arsenal's expense i hope.

On our day, we can beat any team. If Lampard's and Ballack's shooting form in the WC carry over, and Shevvy not settling in the EPL, they'll be the costliest lot of under-achievers next season.

This is the year to beat all the top dogs, Chelsea, Manu, Liverpool, and Arsenal. I believe we have the pieces to challenge everyone if the L-mid and R-back positions are filled with some quality, then a Champions league spot along with a FA cup final will be realistic. What a ride we are about to take this year, let's begin with a beatdown at the Reebok and spread the word that the Lilywhites are kicking ass and taking names. Let's go.

Abso-freakin'-lutely!
This is going to be a historic season - I hope it's capped by at least three points off Chelscum but if we can finish fourth they are more than welcome to six points off us in the process....
A victory at Trashburton would be more satisfying, methinks...

of course we can , i think 3 points at
home maybe a point away .
wasnt that impressed with chelsea tbh last season , i know they won the league at a canter but i would put that down to defficiences of other teams rather than excellence from them . they were steady without ever reaching the fluency of man utd late 90s or dare i say it the filth when they won the double

So the **** what?
Awesome. :D And yes, you're right. Anyone can be beaten. This year I think we'll be a surprise package in another sense. If the whole squad pieces together correctly then we'll be very dangerous. I can't imagine many teams looking forward to playing us this season. Gotta win at the reebok though, a good early test.

It's more important to beat the scum.

Without a doubt.
They were lucky to beat us in both games last season. Mido's sending off was bullshit and we were looking good up until that point, and the other game we concede yet another weak, late goal right at the death. In neither game did they outclass us.

Definitely. MJ has put together an excellent young squad who will go on to bigger and better things. Made real progress over the last few yrs but our time has come to really step up to the plate and grind out results against the top four....only picked up 4 out of a possible 24 pts against them last term which ultimately cost us dearly in the end. Cmon Spurs kick the s**t outta Chelski next time!

Were those 4 points draws against United, Liverpool and home and away versus Arsenal???
I think I remember correctly and that is a record that needs to be put right this season.
I think a realistic target this season would be 13 points...winning all our home games v top four, and not losing (i.e winning or drawing) one of the aways, preferably at Ashburton. We drew them (scum) twice last season so anything less than that is not better.
