So, is anyone else having an afternoon of mixed feelings?

Nothing normally cheers me quite like Ars**** and the Nazis dropping points, but why do they have to be to teams we could actually do with losing?

No bloody justice, is there?

Results wise Its been a bitter sweet sort of day today, thats the only way i can describe it, although watching arsenal losing 3-0 is always pleasing regardless of who their opponents are!

Ive said for a while that the premier league is closing up with anybody being able to beat anybody else on their day with exception of the 'big four'. All it would take is a decent run and your chasing Europe....just look how quickly we closed the gap and moved off the bottom. With games against Blackburn, Everton, West Ham coming up we could see ourselves in a healthy mid table position eyeing up a push for Europe.

Feb 1993 was the last time the top 4 have failed to score in a premier league weekend

Yawn. I was wondering who would say that first, I was banking on jrio, but congrats. Part of being a spurs fan is being an arse hater, and I'm just having some fun at their expense. In the long run we will overtake citeh, there is plenty of time to catch them, so my joy at a 3-0 arse defeat is not tempered in the slightest by the identity of their opponents.

got to say the way the league is panning out every team outside the top 3 , manure , chelski , and pool , are our direct opposition for league positions ,and any team that takes points off arse and drags them back to the main group is fine by me .
i dont see city as challenging for europe via the league this year , but they will be safe , and despite our current run (deceptive in my eyes ) unfortunatly i dont see us challenging for europe either , just being safe mid table

you make it sound like an accepted footballing fact.

Reality is its not so clear cut. IN the long term city will be able to spend unlimited money on players. Makes your prediction look slightly strange.

but hughes has said he doesn't want to make a team of galacticos a la real madrid. He wants wayne bridge and roque santa cruz ffs. When i say in the long run btw, i mean this season, not in the next 5 years, in which citeh probably will overtake us.

It's something we have to face - money will keep great players, and buy everybody elses. Some players (if they have the talent to persuade) will chase the hope of medals, some will have an attachment to a team, the integrity of which will transcend the pursuit of wealth. But the billionaire-backed teams will create a football Hollywood, which will be dazzling, lucrative and ultimately just another place where the rich compete with one another, and we pay and pay, on all fronts.
