When is Bale going to win a league match with us?

He's so totally cursed, it's incredible...

Its unbelievable he hasnt won a prem league game with us yet and hes been here over a year. To be honest, it says more about the team than it does about Bale.

...or does it say Bale leaves the door unbolted far too often. He's obviously got a problem, I wish it was as simple as a crisis of confidence but he is taking men on with the ball, just doing it in his own half and losing the frickin' ball. I would suggest that even 'arry knows BAE is poor but Bale is actually I liability at present.

Play him in midfield! We had nothing on the left last game.

Having said that, I've never ever seen a left back dominate a game like I have for Wales recently, so it's not just his fault (not just against the shit teams either, against Russia he was immense)

he'd be far better if he had steed in front of him in midfield :glare:

Soon as he breaks his duck, we will hopefully go on a run!!
This curse would never have lasted if he never got injured last season!

It's not anything to do with him, he just happened to be fit at the worst times in our last two seasons and now he is having the second season dip that many youngsters get.

Along with Keane he was the only one playing well at the start of last year. Then he got injured and missed the upturn in form. That's all it is.

But I agree that he is doing very badly at left back at the moment and he needs some coaching on positioning and tackling. We would probably be better off starting him left wing for now as well. But as he develops I think he will become a great left back.

A kid with less potential called Glen Johnston had similar issues for a while and he became a very fine player.

I have to agree, he has been really unlucky not only with injuries but also with the timing of being at full-fitness. Im sure it wont be long till he gets his first prem win and really starts to push on.

Theres no doubting GB's quality but it seems increasingly obvious that confidence is a HUGE part of the lads game, he seems quiet and maybe things get to him more than others. He also seems to get punished for his mistakes regularly which happens from time to time, he's just on a poor run.

He's had a real shocker this season but im sure under Harry he'll turn it round and prove a real asset. Whether thats at left back or left wing im not sure.

I second that he was WORLD CLASS against azerbaijan and russia.

He will come good, as will bentley and hutton.

selling him was a huge mistake IMO, now we really suffer at the left :cursing:
we should stick to bale, as his morale can only raise with harry, and the game against blackburn will give him the lift he needs, mark my words (my english is really ?shitty?)

I can see why Steed left but i think he would have really flourished under Harry. Its a real shame that we never got to see the real Malbranque, constantly played out of position yet never complained or let us down.

He's far too good for Sunderland!!

The sale of Malbranque was my first incling that Ramos had lost the plot. You don't sell your most important players.

Im sure we'll all admit that Steed probably wasnt going to move us up to the next level especially when played wide left but he always made himself available and unlike some of our midfielders he never ever hid!!

Choosing to sell him over the likes of KPB, Ghaly, Taarabt and Co was baffling.

I never fancied him that much as a winger, but he always put in a shift.

It is baffling given his work rate and tackling success that he was never put in the centre. It's near criminal actually that he never got a go in there given the tripe that was there and still is there.

That was always said to be his position and given his lack of pace and not so amazing right foot for wide areas, his graft, thrust and guile would probably have been very useful in the centre of the pitch.

He seems to have many more central qualities than that of a wide man.

I liked steed and was happy with him as a squad player. Works really hard and can slay poor teams when need be.

But i remember from alot of people here and other spurs fans joining in the witch hunt just because he wouldn't take a penalty for us.
