Alex takes a hit from 40 yards! it hits anelka on the knees and robinson just stops playing :scared: :cursing:  and lets the ball roll into the net because he thinks it is either offside or handball.
I bet motd2 blame us for making goalkeepers into laughing stocks.
(he has made a few good saves before that)

yeah tbh i thought he had a brilliant match
and had some beautiful saves,
but usually, when its offside the keeper still goes for the ball just incase?

It wasn't because of the offside it was because paul felt it was hand ball. From pauls angle behind the goal it looked like he had a case. But from the refs it looked like it came off his knee.

but he should still go and try to stop the ball rolling into the net. He is supposed to play to the whistle.
All those good saves were undone by making that mistake.

Exactly.People will tend to gloss over any good saves he made, because he committed the cardinal sin of not playing to the whistle. If he had played on,then he and the rest of the Blackburn team can say afterwards that they have been the victims of a misjustice by the Referee. However,by stopping playing altogether,Robinson only puts the spotlight on himself.

While all the pundits were waxing lyrical about his saves, it was really just those two headers and the lampard shot, and the two headers were straight at his legs, and if he had let the lampard shot in it would have been awful goalkeeping. The only truly great save was the one where he pushed anelka's effort wide with his left hand - I admit that was quality. But if any of the others had gone in there would have been questions asked of any goalkeeper. This weekends wonderful keeping performance was in reality Jaaskelainen - he was immense.

Worst keeper in the league, fact, so unbelievably glad we don't have his fat ass between our posts anymore.
Had it, lost it big time after that great season when we nearly finished fourth. Since then he has been diabolical.
