Which rumours have any truth?

things have gone very quiet on the link front, i guess as everyones trying to talk to players who've finished the world cup and are going on holiday. Busy time for all. think left fullback is now covered. bridge would still be welcome in my view. lucas neill been mentioned for right back. i seem to recall jol talking to him after the blackburn game, or maybe it was someone else. Also the left winger and fourth striker options need looking at. Can't see carlton cole going to west ham as unlikely to get any more football there, unless he thinks he can improve on them. I keep hearing whispers for jonathen greening at left wing. would prefer babel although he has a lot to learn yet like lennon.

Greening is a good player but i dont think he is the type of player we should be looking at. Babel is an excellent prospect but is not a left midfielder, he is a forward and is right footed, for ajax he is played on the left of 3 forwards, but if we are going to play a 4-3-3 next season as some people are saying then it might work.

Assuming Defoe stays, I don't think we need a fourth striker. With the one's we've got, we are going to find it very hard to find another quality striker, who is willing to spend time on the bench, so I say, give Barnard a chance!

EDIT: Was just checking the official site to make sure I spelt Barnard's name right and saw this name, Jamie O'Hara, I don't recognize it, who is he?

yer he's been around for a while, he was out on loan somewhere i think for months. don't think he'll make the grade tho.

It seems like MJ is rating him pretty high with his latest comments and the contract extansion... Hope we get to see him in the first team soon.. Think it's about time that more of our homeground talents make it through the ranks and become a first ream regular...
