Too much brawn and not enough brain with the pairing of Terry and Dawes. You need a player with quick mind and quick feet to pair off with either one. So it should be King and Dawes/ Terry.

Im sorry sundancer but you cannot put ashton and rooney up front as they both operate from deep and link up play. Ashton could well be the ideal replacement for rooney when his injured or suspended. I feel a bent, defoe or owen should partner rooney up front.

The core of the team is good, the problem is the 2 central midfielders need to sort out who's hanging back and who's going forward oh and er...the manager!

who said they were, that was the 5 midfielders in no particualr order, with Rooney the front most but all are interchangeable depending on situations, i like total fluidity in my teams .

How's that for an attacking line up. As for my shock inclusion of Walcott, as much as I hate to admit it I think he may well be a great player. However in a perfect world he would have faded into obscurity and playing up-front on his own for the scum in the coca-cola championship or whatever is called these days.

wellwhen people list teams they are generally in order of position hence the conclusion i drew from ur post

i like a king dawson central defensive partnership , not just cos they are spurs , but i think clubmates can work better in that situation .
ideally have a central midfield duo from the same team , likewise 2 forwards , but cant see that happening whereas the defenxsive partnership is a viable option right now .

so

robbo

neville king dawson cole

lennon gerrard nolan/carrick j.cole

rooney

defoe/bent

joe cole only got as i couldnt come up with a better replacement at the moment but i dont think its his best position . nolan would like to see have a go , not the most skillful but would put a bite in the midfield which with lennon and cole playing think we would need.
strikers i would like to get away from the automatic picking owen and rooney if fit , i want to see defoe , bent , johnson involved more and then picked on current form and strike rate , with confidence high .
