I'm supporting Germany from here on in, simply due to the fact that Klinsmann coaches them.
Oh, and I'll be supporting France vs Portugal......without question. I hope someone breaks Ronaldo's legs. please.

obviously i hate france but zidane's performance against brazil tonight means he deserves to play in the final. i hope italy win so they can restore some respect to their game after their corrupt clubs and officials nearly cost them their credibility.

Zidane was phenomenal and France absolutely bossed Brazil. I don't care who wins now as long as it ain't Portugal. I look forward to Ronaldo crying as they go out next round.
On recent performances it looks like France will win it. If they play like they did yesterday and against Spain, then to be fair, they deserve it.

Zidane totally deserves to lift the trophy for his leadership and truely proffessional displays for france since the group stages. i am supporting germany from now on, my only draw back is i dont want lehman to win it, hopefully Kahn will get back in there somehow. its always good to see the host nation do well and Klinsmann has really turned germany around

For the sake of skillful football, and gentlemanly conduct, and most of all Zidane, I hope the French win it.

Normally I'd want to be able to say we went out to the winners, but not this time. I have a couple of German friends, play alot of German records when I dj and worshipped Klinsmann during his stay(s) with us so I shall be hoping Germany do the buisness.
Besides, I can imagine how ecstatic Jerry will feel if he wins the trophy in his own land and I wouldn't want to take that away from him (unless you were playing against..). Let's all us Brits get behind Jerry this time and get over what is a totally non-reciprocated rivalry.
As I believe Noel Coward once said, Don't Let's Be BEastly to the Germans....

Yeah can't argue that Germany have turned a few heads, if at least their own fans. I'm happy for Klinsmann, and glad he's getting the support from the home fans that he deserves He seems to have done exactly what it took to get them playing as a team.

Zidane rolled backed the years Saturday... the goofy one could only stand back and admire...
Germany have been brilliant this WC... but for me I want Italy to win

Germany or Italy for me. When Italy are good they are fantastic to watch, Cannavaro and Gattuso have been two of my top picks so far.
I'm sure Klinsman has a lot to do with but I actually can bear watching the old enemy these days, Ballack's peformance against the Argies was bordering on Hollywood Heroic.
As for France, I just couldn't stomach them winning it, but again Zidane was immense and I wouldn't begrudge him for a minute.

Nicely put, I'm with you on this one. With all the press going on about Ronaldinho and Rooney they seemed to have forgotten that this is the last hurrah for probably the greatest footballer of the past two decades.
I don't really care who wins (other than Portugal) as long as the games redress the balance of what has essentially been a very poor World Cup in terms of quality of football and the horribly negative tactic on display from virtually all protagonists (Argentina and Germany exlcuded).
Maybe we should have two World Cups, a defensive one and an attacking one, Sven can watch the defensive one and complain that he finds the tactic too bold and risky, Switzerland would win hands down.

Has to be Germany for me. Been the most attacking side, scored a hatful, their games have been excisting to watch. The French are 'last-hurrah' merchants who have scraped along (apart from beating Brazil, who were fractured and overrated anyway). The Italians are, and remain, a disgraceful bunch of divers, pussies, cheats and takers of backhanders, most of whom ply their trade for clubs for whom the result is a foregone conclusion. Had the match fixing scandal broken earlier in Italy, the Azzuri who took the pitch in these finals would be far different and doubtless not got this far.
As for the Portuguese, little needs saying, apart from if they somehow beat the Frogs and get to the final, I for one will not be watching. They are, virtually to a man, an insult to the game, and should they actually win it, World Cup 2006 should be struck from the records.
Come on Germany.
