i guess he's as good as you're going to get as cover, and he's good in the air so yer i think he'll be ok. still young enough to learn too. better than splashing 6m on davies.

He is good, but needs another 10 lbs or so of upper body muscles so that he can attack aerial balls better.

He needs another 10 lbs of brain cells too a lot of the time.

He is decent cover & he's obviously happy to sit on the bench so that's fine with me.

But does this mean that Davenport is a goner? I'd rather Calum than TG.

****ing groan - he is a useless lanky **** who is nowhere near the fringe of the england squad. how many of the clubs that finished above us last season would he be able to walk straight into the side of - thats right - none. he is distinctly average at best and it is another example of tottenham fans settling for mediocrity, when we sit here and say - "yes, he's good for cover" etc etc. i know that during the season you'll think "oh we're ****ed" when you see his name on the teamsheet instead of dawson or king. you won't be thinking "we've got good cover" you'll be thinking I wish daws and king were playing. how short memories are - we assassinated the **** on this forum last season. the **** couldn't even secure a move to charlton ffs!

That was my first thought....and yeah I would rather CD than AG but Davenport is too good to sit on the bench (trust me) and if u were MJ would u pick him over King/Daws?

I still think he is a liability and certainly not good enough as 'cover'.

Yeah but how do u get adequate cover? Davenport is great, but players who we deem good enough for cover dont want to sit on the bench!!!!!

I think we are getting to the point where better quality cover will be willing to sit on the bench than the likes of Gardener. Ideally we need to find another Dawson but I'm not sure who is about like that.
