Well Robinson did give an interview pre-WC in which he described how he'd been practising saving penalties since before the end of Spurs' season. See, he's having his critics too and penalty shoot-outs are where keepers can become heroes...(CL final 2005 anyone?)

well beckham won't be on the pitch if we got to penalties so that's no good. I think robbo isn't great at pens as he's not the quickest. more likely david james was saving them. I would actually sub him in for the pens if i had a sub left.

He saved from Sheringham on the last day of the season, which was after he said he'd been practising.

Robbo saved a lot more ****ing penalties last season than he let in.

Regardless of whether Robbo or James is the better penalty stopper, England will lose if the shootout stage is reached. The Latin Euros have much better techique with the ball than the Brits.

I back Robinson to be the hero if its a shootout. We should be competent enough to do the rest.

I have no doubt that Robinson will manage to save some pens if it goes to a shoot-out, my only fear is that England's penalty takers will **** up as usual and prevent him from being a hero.
