think we will lose.

spurs 1 wigan 2

There was nothing I saw from the wisla game that gives me hope of beating a more well organised wigan team (who have got more clean sheets than us this season).

Blind faith has me for a Spurs 2-1 win.

We will concede.

Pav to get both goals.

This is a very hard one to predict....I think it will probably be a 1-1 draw with Bent to get the goal. Maybe we could scrape a win if our defense turns up and manages not to concede a goal, but that wont happen. A win would be brilliant however, it would really kick start our season.

I don't think that at the present moment we are capable of beating anyone in the premiership, especially after last Monday's and yesterday's displays. Wigan to win 1-3.

Spur
19th September 2008, 03:31 PM
The second in our 5 match unbeaten run.

2-0. Gomes with both.

Draw for me they have too much attacking threat with heskey, zaki, and valencia not to score. It basically depends how well we attack. We should line out like this...

Gomes
Corluka
Woodgate
King
Bale
Bentley
JJ
Hudd
Lennon
Bent
Pav

subs,
Cesar
Gunter
O'hara
Zokora
Gilberto
Gio dos santos
campbell

Wigan are one of those teams whom if they can't outplay you, then they will try to outfight you. This could prove to be the difference.
I'll predict 2-1 to Wigan.

Actually they have a lot of quality and are a dangerous animal. I hope we win, but it is far from certain. It would even have been a tough fixture a few years ago when we had Davids and Carrick in the middle of the park and were on form.

To win this game we need warriors on the pitch, players who want hide and go running. We need fighters so we need our british players on show, i would start campbell and bent up front for one and play bale left wing with benoit left back.

Campbell and bent will hopefully cause titus major problems. I hope we win im going to the game!

Ahhh...but with that hope, you have probably reversed what you hoped not to be! Get my drift? You see.......oh never mind!

I'm going for a 3 - 1 win. If Modric doesn't play we may shuffle the midfield to actually compete. I couldn't see Modric against Wigan being too effective.
Drop the Hudd and the donkey and hey, why not 3 -1.
Pav will get his first goal! Is he playing? Not banged up for breaking cameras?

being british doesnt mean you have more fighting qualities:confused:

jj dissapears most of the game and dawson is ****ing ***** with absolutly no talent and should be playing in the championship.

Our best player this season has been gomes (despite the schocking error) he is much more commanding compared to robbo.

Laugh at titus all you want but there isnt much difference in quality between him and dawson who will get murdered by zaki and heskey.

Our only chance of winning is if we outscore them because we wont be keeping a clean sheet if dawson plays (hope I am wrong but have seen dawson **** up to many times)

The team I would like to see:

bent pav

lennon JJ zok Bentley

bale wood corluka gunter/hutton (when will he be fit)

There is something about Dawson that I got a good feeling about, He even got his England place a few years ago, But hasnt been his best, I dont know wether he has lost his confidence, or needs to devlelop more.

Didn't Titus have one outstanding season at Ipswich just like Daws and has more pace and power than Dawson. Is he better?

JJ looks for the ball did you watch the game on thursday? English players fight does modric, gio, pav show fight? No! Look at campbell he gets stuck in, look at ohara, bale, gunter, hutton, dawson, and jj they all get stuck in. Gio was no where the other game and its a common fact when games are rough, physical foreign players go missing, just look at arsenal for example.

I find it tiresome how people continue to slag off jj when he consitently out performs most players. Brilliant against villa and good against wisla on thursday.

Yes dawson is a donkey but not as bad as bramble.

truth hurts doesnt it. dawson is shit. Even when dawson was playing better he was still average at best. How many goals on average have we conceded in the last 3 seasons. (my guess would be 55 - about the amount wigan concede).

I know Titus makes comically horrendous errors, but if you add up there shit moments added to their pluses over the last two years I'd say good old Titus may even come out on top.

I say that because A. although he has made some horribly shocking errors, essentially an error is an error and I've seen Dawson make as many and B. I've seen Titus have some very good games and have some very good defending in between the ricks.

Basically I wouldn't touch either of them with yours but the way I look at it at least Titus is strong and quick.

To give you an example their is absolutely no question that the worst defender in the league is Paul McShane. Not the name on everyone's lips like poor old Titus because he doesn't have holy show moments that often but every week he is getting done for lack of brains, pace, height and zero ability on the ball.

Well it shows you how much I rate him at this stage. I'd rather play one of the reserves and give them a chance. They can't be any worse.

He's also a hoofer which will never help your case at Tottenham. At least Bramble doesn't think he is f*cking Beckenbaur with the ball at his feet when he's actually got the technique and vision of STUART NETHERCOTT!

We take a clean sheet and a point and build on it. What Juande says is true. It may take a long time to get this show on the road. As much as 10-15 games unfortunately, but there has been so much upheavel and losing Berba and Keane is a huge adjustment.

I can't believe some of you are falling for that "it will take us 10-15 games to gel properly" shite.ALL premier league teams are expected to hit the ground running these days, regardless of whom the club has bought and sold.Is Ramos saying that the team needs 10-15 games to gel to protect his players from the burden of expectation,or because it will take him 10-15 games to work out his best starting 11 and tactics?.
Whether anyone likes it or not,Tottenham, within it's board and it's supporters,is not a club known for it's patience. And at 10-15 games in,that patience may be at breaking point.

I think if we panic that's when it will really go tits up, like a leeds situation. Well, no never quite on that level because they ran the club so badly financially. But I think we just need to work on the training ground doing the right things. I'm as shocked as you are this has happened, but that's because it's not a truthful position with the players we have and the manager we have.

So I can't see it not turning around if Ramos stays and continues to work hard with these players. It is very disappointing though and it leaves us chasing things AGAIN.

Another transition year most probably, lovely. But I will state that if we stick with Ramos I believe the rewards will come. How long that will take is anyone's guess.

Whether people expect it or not is kind of irrelevant. Sometimes it doesn't happen, especially when a team loses players like Keane and Berbatov. I may seem like an eternal optimist but I'm not, I just believe in Ramos and what he has shown in the past and also in his start at the club.

I was an eternal pessimist last year at this stage because I had very little faith in how Jol was doing things and I couldn't see it being good long term.
That's not how I see it now, but I recognise how low on confidence, cohesion and spirit we are at the moment. It is very worrying.

That's the kind of thinking that does sink big clubs. If we succumb to that then we are truly up sh*ts creek without a paddle.

The players are there, the squad is close to excellent actually, that is why it is so shocking. But there are reasons as stated (so many squad changes, losing Keane and Berba, upheavel, gelling etc.), and this group will grow and grow as a team and in confidence if they are given time with Ramos.

He is no mug, he knows how to build a side and he has brought in his players. He needs one or two more as we all agree but he doesn't need one or two more to start moving us up the table fast. Ramos will need time, but ledley is ****ed and its time to put corluka as permanent CB as we got a clean sheet at least!
Thing that F*cks me off is that we still dont pick the same players in certain positions and instead chopping and changing. A world class would not do that unless enforced! Surely its time he got his first win!

Havent seen the game yet, will watch MOTD later cause I'm sadistic like that.

What I will say about our position, it reflects our play and is currently a true indication. However that is a positive, if we had played well, our new players had looked like they had always worn lily white and we were playing fast free flowing football and were still bottom THEN I would be worried.

The fact we aren't playing well and are bottom shows we are where we should be, and that hopefully as we do get better then we will move up to a more prominent position. I truely beleive it will start to get better, and when it does it will stay better. We arent going to have a wonderful season, but we should eventually have a solid one, and hopefully one which can be built on.

Positive points on today's performance was the defence looked much better but unfortunately we lack the finishing touch,, midfield wasn't that brilliant however, we have seen worse performances this season in that department, it is now getting to the very worrying stage, two points out of five games and mostly against mediocre teams is appalling.

Just got back from the game and it was dull as hell apart from parklane and the shelf singing we are tottenham super tottenham for like 20minutes nonestop!

Bale was poor for once.

Corluka and woody look good at the back. Gomes was great. Benoit was ok and zokora was great untill he overlapped bentley and didn't know what to do.

Bentley was shite crossing awful and allmost seems he is trying to hard. Jenas was poor but wasn't our worst performer imo. Jamie is great in a tackle but apart from that he offers very little, passing was awful today and so was his movement.

Pav looks shit and couldn't win a header all day! Needs time but i would start campbell with bent.

My only swipe at ramos is why bring on hudd when we need a goal? He nearly cost us a goal when he let sharner run past him and than decided to mark woody instead of picking up scharner when he was running into the box when wigan player was about to cross.

Lets try not to think about King anymore as he's just a liability and we have to surely find a full time replacement and let him recover for a whole season or retire!

my team for next game going on current form also!

gomes

gunter corluka woodgate Bale

Lennon ohara jenas dos santos

Bent Campbell

i would bring on Bentley, and modric 2nd half. these boys just need some games from the bench to learn a little as they are still young with a lot of pressure from their values!
Look a Nani and anderson they cost roughly the same amount but still dont get full games regularly.. i know Bentleys more proven but just in poor form so deserves dropping as lennons better at the moment!

Some people might say they can't wait till January to use the £30 + million from the Berbatov sale on a new player/s...

All that will happen in January when we sign a player is that it will unsettle the squad again, I mean we've got some players at this crucial stage now in the season that have only been here 2 weeks. I'm very nervous.

Jenas was poor

he really wasn't. He is so much better than people give him credit for. I sit next to a JJ hater and at the start of the game he said he would hit me every time JJ made a mistake or did something bad. He hit me 3 times, and he is a harsh critic. JJ was our best player today, or maybe Woody, but JJ played well.

I player of Arshavins quality or a velosa will probably need little time to settle. really have to splash the cash this time. a 10 milllion centreback may help also!

Buying these players maybe difficult in Jan if were in the bottom half though!

We have too many defenders, thats why I was uncomfortable about the Corluka buy... I said all along that we need a CB that is very solid and stable...

I had high hopes for corluka but until about 70 mins he looked far from very solid and stable  he only improved slightly as the game went on, he wasn't great.... Indianspur, which 10million cb do you want? I don't know how many of that quality are available to us right now....

Dont get me wrong, Corluka is a good player, But he likes to get forward too much, we need Martin Laursen/Jolean Lescott

Well i was thinking collucini would have been great with woodgate..laursen was so close to signing for us at one time also god his goals and defending would have improved us a lot!
Even nyron nosworthy is looking solid at the moment and your probably right, theres not many good cbs available that would come to spurs!

I think if corluka strugles after a few games there then let gunter have a go!!
He plays there for Wales and does a good job! In reality we will not replace King until he retires and the next best thing maybe to buy a classy DM so we concede less.

No way, did you see the way he turned his back allowing Di Michele to score the weekend, that kind of put me off him. by the way, Does anybody know what happened to the Argentinian LB Sorin, I ent heard his name mentioned for years now?

Yup, why don't we sign them. Ronaldo will want big wages but he will score goals, he always does. Just be sure to mention that there are many good prossies in London and he will probably come here instead of city.

Appiah is a strong midfielder, the kind we need.

We do but it wouldn't stop me going all out to get Appiah too. And a large point being that he is available right now. With Diarra you will have to wait until January at the earliest.

He's had long-term knee injuries. As we let Tainio go because of similar issues, it's unlikely we'd be looking to bring in a player with the same uncertainties.
