Another rumour this time were after the Inter Milan hitman and are willing to pay £10m seems a lot for a 4th Striker or is Defoe on his way.

Don't even think we'll get a fourth striker in anymore, because I am now convinced of the switch to 4-5-1 / 4-3-3.

There's an item that we are renewing interest in Wilhemsen.

Is Wilhelmsson left or right sided? I can never remember....

I don't think we're after Martins. Really.

surprised we haven't cleared out more crap yet. The test the water bids for chimbo and davies have died down so maybe we have other targets. Surprised to hear trabelsi's agent say he's been offered a contract at arsenal as can't think they'd need him. he said he wanted CL footy tho so he ain't coming to us.
Martins is a big strong brute, like a young jason roberts, bit of an attitude by all accounts. He's probably good value at 8-10m because of his age, as you'd get a large percentage back. Would think it would mean the end for defoe if he signs.

Now that would be good. Wilhelmsson is a great player, but seeing asa i'm convinced about the switch to three in the middle, I really don't see where he will fit in.

wilhelmsson can play both sides.

apparently the villa fans think barry is coming to spurs as well.

Barry's actually a very decent player.

Supposed to be a yiddo too so i'd be happy for us to buy him.

I can't see it....I would have thought the left side and the right back were all we needed.

gareth barry would be a squad player at best, he can play left midfield and left back so could be a usefull squaddy but i cant see it happening

Martins is a good player, very speedy but unless we sell Defoe i cant see it happening

I think we're set with the strikers, I can see maybe someone coming in, but when its such a high price you've got to think that when we've already got defoe keane and berbatov it's just not viable.

i really hope we don't buy barry. reid has already proved that being a good footballer isn't enough in our team. We've just bought the cameroon frenchy who can play left side so why do we need barry. Reports of the young bale say he's quoted as a rolls royce of a player, which means he's good but slow also. Bridge is the best left back we can get in my opinion. I hope we swap davids for zakora, as we would have to replace him next year anyway, so it makes sense to target a player now. Wilhemsson is being quoted at a low price but can he really play left side well enough?

in my opinion to take us up another level we need a power type of forward... som1 with genuine power pace and shootin as well as heading ability.. its the 1 aspect of front play we lack to date. if we look at marlon harewood or dean aston, that type of player just to improve our options,or a ower type winger on tye left. who could also play upfront, its always been a problem.. and history shows our success when weve had great power players in that pos.. ricky villa chris waddle...ryan babel come to mind ... maybe wilheelmson

Mido fits right in to the bracket you describe us as lacking....damn it.

Mido is linked with a 2 mill. move to blackburn.. What the hell is up with that.. I thought Roma was talking about 6 mill when he was about to join spurs!?

If Mido joins anyone for less than £5Million then we are perfectly within our rights to ask the true reason we did not sign him.

Spur

The true reason is because he's a ****. He acted stupidly and we shouldn't have wasted any more money on him. Which we haven't. Which is good.

I agree. From what I hear we had a deal done at the start of this season for £3 mil and £25k a week for Mido. 3/4 of the way through the season Roma approached us and said that they wanted £6mil for Mido and Mido's agent demanded £35k+ a week. Apparently we refused to even negotiate with either party as a deal had previously been agreed. I think this is the first use of common sense in a transfer in modern football history.

If that is the real truth then I'm glad we didn't sign him and that we don't have people like Peter Ridsdale on the board. Could you imagine if we did a Leeds? It's unthinkable! I don't think it would ever happen again though....unfortunately for Leeds they've served as the example for everyone else....
