Is it me or isn't it about time Carrick The Manc started talking? What he needs to remember is that after looking, it was Spurs who took the gamble, it was Spurs who put their money where their mouth was, Spurs who progressed what the hammers started! Gooners and manure just watched as we took him and now they want the finished article. After we offer him more than most supporters earn in a year! None of us are sure how this will end up, Carrick! It's time to start talking!

It's not only annoying, but this is really starting to piss me off.

The reason being that both our manager and assistant manager seem like it is inevitable (despite Chrissy H saying otherwise), and being very passive in what they are saying.

C'mon guys, give Mickey C a chance. He's currently proving himself to be the best holding midfielder England have had since Ince so why should he allow himself to be drawn into transfer speculation? Let him speak when his World Cup finishes, which on today's evidence will be at some time on Sunday... Not that I'm pessimistic or anything...

Welsh Spur

You're right, but Jenas found the time to speak, I think the finalising of the Zokora transfer will result in Spurs accepting a bid around £15M, but only if Carrick says he wants to go, which I fear could be the case.

carrick is speaking about the situation its just nobody can understand him

Welsh Spur

whats he said then?

highlander

Welsh Spur

that figures. was it because of his geordie accent?

yeah, that and the dodgy mouth

Spur

I don't actually think he has too much of an accent.

Maybe he's a posh Geordie. If there is such a thing.

Here we go again panic, panic, I still have not heard Carrick say he wants to leave.

Welsh Spur
26th June 2006, 03:16 PM
Yeah, and we haven't heard him say he's staying either.

Spur
26th June 2006, 03:20 PM
Like Jenas did.

Or sign a new deal like Aaron, Ledders and Mikey D did.

Welsh Spur
26th June 2006, 03:24 PM
It's just annoying because if someone, especially a player held in such high regard as Carrick is here, is going to leave then it's courteous to inform us, as fans, of the goings-on. I think if he was going then some little bit of info would have come from the club, saying that he's still with England so maybe that's the reason for the lack of information. Then again Jenas found the time to speak. I don't know, it's all up in the air isn't it?!?!

Spur
26th June 2006, 03:27 PM
I reckon he has a stamped envelope with a written transfer request inside it waiting on his coffee table at home.

As soon as England are out he'll take a quick walk to the postbox and BAM

He's spotted wearing a Man Utd shirt at Old Trafford with Old Fergie.

Welsh Spur
26th June 2006, 03:29 PM
But soon enough we'll be able to see pictures of Zokora in his brand spanking new Spurs shirt, and then if he goes you'll just think, "**** Carrick."

mjbmedia

who has ever left spurs recently and gone on to bigger and better things at another club (exception Judas and even hes no more an England regular since going to the scum) even when we were not rolling in cash they still went downhill on leaving the Lane .

i say let him leave for £20m no less, then laugh as Hargreaves takes his England spot, unless of course he stays with us.

JJ
26th June 2006, 06:35 PM
I'd like him to stay, but if he doesn't want to show a bit of faith and gratitude in the team that sent him to the World Cup, then **** him.

sent him to the world cup as a sub though. I think lampard is playing below par because he's worried about his chelsea future, especially as chelsea have been linked to zokora too. He looks like a worried man, and should be dropped for the next game. Carrick might be one of those where he wanted an improved contract and they said not yet. so he's made some noises to other clubs and hoped he'll get his new contract offered that way instead. How many times has it happened to us when we've been after players. I have to say i thought hudds was the perfect replacement for him, so maybe it's just good business if hudds looks like he's gonna make the mark.

Spur

I doubt Lamps is quaking in his boots because speculation suggests as soon he lands from England duty he will get a contract offer of £140,000 a week.

Only thing i'd be worried about is what to spend it on.

As a sub but already widely considered as good enough for a first team player. They've been talking about him playing in the holding role for months before the world cup.

i dont think he should be saying anything , i think he should be concentrating on the job at hand which is england , which it seems he is doing .

Welsh Spur

I know it's his own footballing future and no-one elses, but if he knows what he wants to do he owes it to us as Tottenham fans to keep us informed. Plain and simple.

i wouldnt be surprised if he has just told his agent he wants to stay at spurs , and for now he is just concentrating on england . his agent meanwhile is probably trying to do what he concieves to be his job , lining up options for carrick ,whilst not putting off any potential bidders by stating carricks preference . well thats what im hoping anyway .

Has anyone else seen this article (http://www.spurs.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=23115)?

:(

Doesn't look good for us keeping Carrick, I'll get my tissues ready.

If I was him I would stick it out for 1 season more and go for a Champions League spot....

But i think he is thinking he could become a 1st team regular in the biggest clubs in the World... guareented Champions League footy, season in and season out... and Medals

But Spurs will not let go for less than 15mil and we have Hudds

SurreySpur
5th July 2006, 12:46 PM
The fact that he may or may not go doesn't worry me. It's the fact that he hasn't said a word about the speculation, he's not showing himself in a very good light. Recently JJ came out and said he wasnt going anywhere and only today has little aaron announced that he's happy at spurs and wants to help us acheive CL football. If carrick spoke out, stating that he did indeed want to join Man Ure and it would also mean he's nearer his family up north then fair enough, we would all accept it and that would be that. It really is time for MC to start talking.

Yep but that makes me think he is seriously considering leaving.... but the good think is he won't go cheap

he wont look good in a red shirt tho, its just not his colour , the England red one didnt suit him, surely he has to take that into consideration as he looks great in white or blue.

Top Respect must go to Aaron for coming out and saying he's happy @ Spurs and is looking forward to the new season i wish i could say the same about Carrick but tbh i will be surprized if he's here next season and he's never been a badge kisser so if he wants to go, Fvck him let him go but get top dollar for him and we already have an ideal replacement in Hudds who in my opinion could go on and be a better player than Carrick.

If he goes he goes. He was great for us last season, but getting 15 million for him is svenlike in the daylight robbery department.

yer fair play to the management for buying him when others weren't sure, they can feel pleased for the club making 10m+ profit on him.

Welsh Spur
7th July 2006, 11:02 AM
Yeah, Carrick is truly worth £7-8Million at best, ten would be pushin it i think. To get £15M+ plus for him would be great.....he'll never be a badge kisser, unless he does a Shearer and goes home....

It is about time carrick spoke up, but if he does go i hope to see more of huddleston, and i hope we keep Davenport, as i don't rate gardner and he's signed a neww contract, weren't we supposed to sell him janurary but it fell through

Welsh Spur
10th July 2006, 10:18 AM
Gardner's more content to bench-sit than Davenport.

It looks like Carrick's staying, Man U are no longer interested apparently.

well more rumours that it's going to get done. In response paper talk linking us with nolan from bolton. I'm really surprised nolan hasn't been targeted as keane's replacement especially as he lives on the doorstep. Maybe he has some pride. would be a good acquisition but where's he gonna play??

Welsh Spur
12th July 2006, 12:01 PM
Exactly. If Nolan comes in we'll all push him behind certain players immediately. He's good for Bolton, but I'd play Tainio, Jenas or Hudds before him.

shoot_ffs
12th July 2006, 12:05 PM
christ i'd forgotten about tainio, so even if we sell carrick we have two for each centre mid with davids jenas hudds and zokora. maybe we want to push the price up for nolan knowing united will bid for him.

sundancer

I still think Carrick will stay and form a terrific C.M. partership with Zokora next season, Nolan is a good player but I can not see where we would play him, not instead of Jenas.
