View Full Version : Lee at right-back

Today Wayne Bridge was apparently on the verge of a move to the Lane, and with Lee playing at right-back for Korea...

Perhaps we don't need a new right-back after all, maybe after a decent performance at right-back for Korea he is the man for the position...?

Spur, I was thinking the same thing. Right-back is his true position, although he is small. Worth a shot instead of spending outrageous chedda.

I'd certainly rather we gave Lee a go there than spend £6 Mill on Chimbonda.

My only concern for Lee at right back would be that he normally does alot of overlapping and Lennon isn't the kind of winger that needs someone overlapping.

this is all dependant on the bridge deal happening and i cant see that happening as we have Lee & Assou-Ekoto as left backs. we've also been strongly linked with Hatem Trebelsi who his a far better choice at right back as he is big, strong and quick which would suit us playing out and out wingers like Lennon & Routledge down the right

I wouldn't say Trabelsi is big.. He's actually a bit lightweight, but he's very quick, good at going forward, good dribler and put in some exelent crosses...

Good call about the Lennon overlapping part. Im also having a thought that if we do stick with 4-4-2 then maybe Lee willl be given a go at left-wing...

This would enable both Lennon and Lee to swap over every now and then too..........

I see why Jol wants Trabelsi with his current track record for attacking full backs.

If only for one game i would like to see Lennon and Routledge on the wings. I'm sure they could swap around and terrorise the full backs. Granted they're not left footed but the pace they have is enough to buy them the time to use the right.

Where did this come from? I haven't seen any reports (even from the many rumours-a-plenty Spurs sites)

Can anyone confirm this Bridge news?

COYS! And COYEngland too!

News Of The World - that oh so reliable of sources.

Even so there have been many a report over the last months that he is going to be coming here - since we got knocked back by him in January.

He plays RB like he does LB, nothing really constructive as I haven't seen him crossed a ball in 2 games. There's a report somewhere that we're interested in a Korean winger, don't remember the name.

Now that we've signed a new LB, all we need is a new RB. We can then sell Salty and keep Lee as the third FB as he can cover both sides. Then we can have Ifil covering further the RB position and AG covering as emergency LB.
