For the better of the team, I'd hold him back against the Swede unless we're in danger of losing qualifying first from our group. Reason as I stated under an earlier thread about England's shocker.

he completely changed the game today and dare i say it overshadowed Rooney's return

Complelely. Rooney didn't do anything of note. Still not match fit.

At last the man from Del Monte he says Yes. finally Eriksson gives him ago and surprize, surprize Aaron changes the game it's what we have been saying all along SPURS fans. now is the time to at least start thinking about dropping Beckham.

IT's great to have one of the genuine young stars of the World Cup already secured at Tottenham. Pity Ledley didn't make it.

Beckham can't be dropped as who else is there to make those measured crosses.

I know others didn't like the shape after Lennon came on (Becks going to right back, sort of) but it had to be done to get rid of Carragher's AWFUL passing! At least with Becks and Lennon on the right there was a serious threat from both.

Not sure we'd do it for tougher teams but it worked last night. Let's face it Gary Neville looks like a Brazilian attacking full back compared to Carragher!

the shameful fact is, lennon, who was the first man to actually beat his man all evening, wont feature at all against sweden as it threatens beckhams place in the side. we saw it with SWP before him.

unless we play beckham inside i don't think we can play him, if he stays on the wing ljungberg will run past him everytime. I'd like to see gerrard or jenas play wide right to track back. Ljungberg is the best they have and hopefully the big forward out too.

It'll only work in the last hour or so of a game. If we start like that, poeple will pile on the attack from the left and Becks will be foung wanting as a defender.

Is Lennon the youngest player for England in a WC Finals, or is it still Alan Ball?

We can not play Beckham at R.B against the better teams we will be over run on that side, Sven will not drop Beckham so Lennon will have to settle for coming off the bench again. I do think its about time he left Lampard out though,we have to allow Gerrard to play to his strenghs by letting him go free and he can not do that while Lampard is in the team, Carrick should be used with Gerrard in front of him at least we will keep the ball better, it was the worst performance of passing that we have seen so far and we will go no where playing like that.

Never heard of Alan Ball, but i'm quite sure Owen were younger when he played in the 98 WC.

Alan Ball was in the 1966 Winning eleven.
