Ok. I understand that as football fans we are all entitled to our opinions, but I am appalled, even as a Welshman, by the negativity being displayed by English fans. Beckham came out and slated the boo-boys for Hargreaves' undeserved Criticism, which I agree with, I hope England get to the WC Final and Hargreaves scores the winner and all the hypocrites end up with egg on their faces.

It's so annoying to see that a teams' own supporters are slagging them off, demeaning players and writing off their own chances. If no English fan believes that England are going to win then why the f*ck are you even watching it? I would never slate Spurs in the way the England are being savged left right and centre.

I love Spurs, and I love England, and as poor as they may play, I'll be the first to admit it but in a constructive manner. So I'm putting out a request, please can everybody get behind the team and not write off the chances. The momentum of the squad will pick up as the tournament goes on, and then all you critical little ****s will hopefully shut the **** up.

Most of your points I go along with, however, I think Hargreaves criticism isn't necessarily undeserved. TBH, I've only seem him play for England, and he has yet to do anything to make me think his selection is worthy. I will still support him when he plays for England, but I would rather seem not playing.

Well, so far so good, I was actually bracing myself from a torrent of abuse from the England-bashers. :D

Oh, wait.....

i actually quite like hargreves, he's settled in the squad and has been aroung for a while and knows the set up. as a player he's very useful and versatile but not exactly world class but a decent squaddy

I personally don't think he's good enough and i don't think he should be playing at all, but to boo him is just stupid. It will only make him play worse and it will only piss off the other players. The last thing we want to do is get the players pissed off with the fans in the middle of a bloody world cup.

my point is that one of hargreaves and jenas should have been dropped for bent or defoe. secondly if hargreaves has a bad game then most england fans will not see the good games he has in germany between then and the next england game - so it sticks in the mind. I think he was booed because his substitution was a negative one. Most fans wanted to see walcott or lennon.

Yes perhaps no-one has figured that they wasn't booing Hargreaves despite no one wanting him there, but Sven's shocking decision to bring him on.

Whilst Hargreaves is a good player, he is just wasting a space in the squad - as is Jenas - in my opinion.

It will take a long time to change a habit of a lifetime. England as a team, players and managers are an easy target for criticism and it has been the case for the last 20 - 30 years. It doesn't help that they are all extremely over paid and do tend to under perform on a consistent basis.
As with Spurs, Most, including myself can take a loss if you can see some passion and commitment, put up a good fight and try to win. Too often with England unfortuneatly the effort is lacking.
Sometimes they deserve the shit they get and other times they don't.
Having said that, it isn't fair that a single player should be booed and blamed for being picked for the world cup. Who wouldn't take the chance to play in the WC if picked?
