The game is 2 days away, the entire England squad took part in full training today, and after the last game, what are everybody's preferences for the next? A win guarantees a second round spot and a less intense encounter versus Sweden in the final group game.

I'm going for:

Robinson/Neville/Terry/Ferdinand/Bridge/Beckham/Gerrard/Lampard/J Cole/Owen/Crouch

I've dropped Ashley Cole coz I prefer Bridge and he was less than convincing against Paraguay; Lampard keeps his place due to the opponents, maybe he and Gerrard can perfect their partnership and own the midfield. I would give Lennon a game especially if Beckham's done his job and we're 3-0 up, and Walcott has to be tested, possibly if Owen continues to fire blanks. Sven's gotta be looking to give Carrick some time in this game also; Finally, If Lennon is unused and we're a few goals to the good, Rooney should be given some match time against easier opposition than Sweden.

well ill go for the obvious;

robbo/neville/terry/rio/cole/becks/lampard/gerrard/cole/crouch/owen

i think we'll win the game 2-0, it wont be easy but we'll take them quite comfortably without having to get into the next gear. lennon should figure as he will give the T&T LB hell. i think Walcott will figure but be fairly unaffective.

Lennon will destroy them if he plays.

Lennon would destroy anyone he plays against. Pace is the hardest thing for defenders to deal with...Just look at Henry, if he had Sheringham's pace he wouldn't be doing anything.

Yes, Lennon will destroy anyone in this WC. Most teams come with stars jaded through the stupid Euro competitions, and Lennon will have a field day against any of them.

On the subject of poor WC displays, this is not the first time, and all the WC Finals since the early 90s have not lived up to expectations; and this corresponds to the time when the UEFA competitions were expanded.
