He actually did a decent job - haha. He would have done a historic double except for a superb ManU team. He got outfoxed by Ramos but then Mourinho used to get outfoxed by Rafa.
Would Maureen have done better? I doubt the overated one would have actually. You could see things were on the wane under him, the players must get fed up playing cock football and grinding all the time, and ManU have gotten stronger and stronger.
But **** Grant he should have changed the style of play. And yes he says he would have next year but you always hear that bollocks from managers. I've NEVER seen a manager change the style of play from what they start out doing. Sometimes they think they are now playing flowing attacking football but I never know what these boring bastards think they are watching or what football is about.
It's his own fault he got sacked. They would have given him time if he created class football, but he didn't, so ****'em.
Plus he is about to get millions and will get a good job in mid table out of the decent rep. he has now in England.

He kinda grew on me as the season went on, shame for him but what do you expect from Chelshit.
I know one of the reserve team goalkeepers at pompey and he said Grant was a genuine bloke and couldnt do enough to help him, so I hope he gets a few million and a decent job out of it.
What I dont understand is why give Grant a 3-4 year contract if they knew they were gonna get rid of him.

I don't think they knew. I think they just weighed it up at the end of the season and were not happy with him.
I think the real question is, why did they give him the job in the first place?
Or if was as a trial run/caretaker then giving him a long term contract was pretty dumb. But then maybe Roman wanted to create stability and not any doubts in the players for this year and if he wanted someone else in the summer he didn't give a **** paying out the compensation.
It's hard to know as he really can wipe his ass with 100 dollar bills.

Chelsea knew that he was going to be a short term choice as manager but im guessing they gave him a 3/4year contract so that he could just get on with the job without they media constantly harping on about who his replacement will be in a few months when his contract ends. Chelsea dont care if they have to compensate him, they have the cash.
But who's going to take the job now? I mean the contract means nothing. Its basically Win the League or Champoins League or your sacked.

footballs getting stupider by the month , at least the premiership is, thanks SKY for helping ruin what used to be a great national game of ours.
Basically sacked for John Terry missing a penalty and at some point in the season some Chelsea player missing a sitter and costing them 2 extra points
He took over a bunch of overpaid prima donna whinging ref chasing ****heads and he leaves the same bunch but with selfish **** Anelka there too.
Personally id not take up the managers seat there , the chairman is a egotistical mafia freak, Kenyon is a bald ****** who knows nothign about football and the players/fans are just total ****s (but then they always have been!!!)
Just a slight feeling, maybe Jol could go there after all Arnesen is there and they were close at Spurs!! ;)

So let's get this right.
Chelsea's next manager is going to have to win the prem and the CL to keep his job. No pressure then.
Appalling behavior. Money really can't buy you class.
I hope they go back to being the shite club they were and should really be. Back to the days when they'd park Reliant Robins behind the goal in that shithole ground 'cos nobody wanted to see them play. That way the current crop of fans can go back to their NF meetings or Surrey Croquet Clubs - detestable ******s.

People are saying what more could he have done. Fair enough as regards results I suppose. He certainly deserves more time and to get his players in for another crack at it.
But, and here is the big but, he DIDN'T change the style of play and that was a large factor in him getting the bullet I would say. Mourinho came in, spent billions and made an impact, but his results began to slide a bit and the football was always horrible to watch.
This is not to mention the fact that they are extremely unpopular for their conduct too.
What Roman is now looking for is a team like United that plays attacking class football, wins trophies and behaves with some dignity. I think he has realised what most of us know already, at the top end grinding victories only gets you so far with both results and in terms of winning the crowd.
And of course all of this means less enjoyment for everyone (including everyone at Chelsea) and less return on his massive investment.
So I would put a fortune on a coach known for attacking flowing football coming in this summer. It might even be Rijckard, as after all he produced the most beautiful club side that ever existed, before he couldn't get them out of bed in the morning anymore.
I would NOT write sideshow Frank off by any means. If he has learned by his mistakes then he will be an awesome force in the game because what he did originally was really special.

Lets face it, we are not far off, THFC has changed quite a few managers in recent years, success is instant nowadays, so lets hope we will have a successful one next season.

Grants work at chelsea was a fantastic achievement. his sacking is ridiculous as he is the exact type of manager that chelsea needed. im not sure who else they could get in to replace him, possibly Rijkaard or Eriksson. Eriksson would be far more sound but i think the chelsea situation is a little too similar to the city situation.

have a little sympathy for the guy , pros that have worked with him elsewhere say he is genuinely good guy but he knew what he was getting into , and im sure is adequately compensated by having his contract paid out .
i also thought he did a pretty good job results wise , and but for terrys penalty miss he would still have a job .
looking in from the outside he didnt appear to have the strength of character to deal with the over-inflated egos of the chelscum players and that may be why he struggled to change their boring brand of football , but it was a tough ask in one season .
what made me laugh is the arrogance of chelsea fans i have seen interviewed , its as though they have a divine right to win something just because they have spent a billion quid , and the way they all slagged off grant . tossers
p.s seems grant is linked to the man city job , with erikson going to mexico .
grant must be a glutton for punishment , the mad success demanding thai is as bad as the glory hunting ruski , bet hey -ho another few million in the bank if he dont win feck all

i think the 2 or 3 million quid a year salary , and big pay off after a year , negates too much sympathy for anyone that takes the job .
its not as if any of them will now go into this without realising the implications of not winning the league or the champions league
